What’s happening at Whitecliff
Another really exciting piece of news is that Whitecliff Bay is going to have a completely new holiday home – the first of its type in the UK, and we are really excited about it, we know it will rock! Taking inspiration from great British rock music, the ‘Rockstar’ holiday home will pay homage to our country’s best and biggest rock legends, with an interior décor that has more than a hint of country chic. These holiday homes will provide an unforgettable and unique experience, the perfect pad for any rockstar!
A very Happy new year to you all! I hope that you had a great festive break and that 2018 has got off to great start. This year is going to be a brilliant one at Whitecliff Bay and we have got some exciting news to share with you about some new additions to the park. Thanks to a £1 million investment by our owners, Away Resorts, there is going to be 45 new holiday homes and lodges, 40 of which will be for sale, on the Crosswinds development. Some of the new holiday homes and lodges will also have their very own hot tubs – the perfect place to unwind and watch the world go by.
We’ve got some very exciting events coming up park wide this year. But to keep you in the loop with all the new developments, we are hosting exclusive events just for you. These are to meet our holiday homes sales team, have a chat about our 2018 plans and the new holiday homes that are for sale, here are some dates for your diaries: Join us for a cream tea from 3-4 February, love is in the air with a Valentine’s Weekend from 1011 February. We’ve got Indian Weekend on 17-18 February and an American theme to our the weekend of 24-25 February rounds off our winter warmer events. So make sure you pop in and have a chat. The Nab Bar and our fantastic outdoor pool are going to get a mini makeover during the winter. The Nab Bar is having a refresh, which will include the reconfiguration of the seating and space in the bar. This will ensure that more guests can enjoy the breath-taking views of the bay in comfort. There will be some renovations to existing holiday homes and the addition of a brand new holiday home that can cater for disabled guests.

Once again, as we do every year, can we please remind our owners to pop into Guest Services when you are next on park to check your contact details with us. It might be that you have moved address, changed your telephone number or e-mail address over the winter and we need to know. Sometimes we need to get messages or updates out to you quickly either by a text message or e-mail, so it is important we have the right details on file so you don’t miss out on relevant park information.
A Warm Welcome A very warm welcome to Chaz, our new Holiday Home Ownership manager. Chaz has been in the industry for ten years now, working in different parks across the UK, so comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience to assist you with any questions you may have about Ownership. Chaz enjoys spending time with his family on the beach so we hope he’ll feel very at home at Whitecliff Bay!

Our family friendly music festival Rock the Bay is back with two nights of rockin’ live music featuring music from our resident band, visiting guest tribute artists, and the Whitecliff Bay show cast presenting live shows and features throughout. Also enjoy live music throughout Saturday afternoon. All presented on a custom outdoor stage on the Nab Bar lawn overlooking the spectacular Whitecliff Bay. Line-up TBC, but one not to be missed.
Halloween at Whitecliff Bay is more actioned packed than ever! With our spook-tacular schedule of Halloween activities and entertainment. It’s time to create some fang-tastic memories!

A lively colourful weekend featuring our brightest Saturday of 2018. Inspired by the famous Indian ’Holi Festival of Colours’, a programme of family events daytime centred around colour throwing powder. Cameras at the ready, this weekend is as fun to watch as it is to take part.
The annual tradition that is the ‘Cream Pie Fight’ returns.
Local March Hare Fossil Walk
(Organised by Dinosaur Isle) Starts: 10 March 10am - 12pm Brook to Compton Bay A guided fossil walk from Brook to Compton Bay to explore for dinosaur footprints and more. If you have rabbit costumes/ears they’d love you to dress up! Wear wellingtons if you have them. If bringing children, have them bring a small plastic bucket or strong bag for finds.
Unfortunately, we have no knowledge of the booking or what is communicated with each guest. In all instances, a guest will be directed back to the owner.
There are some amazing off-park events happening around The Isle of Wight over the next few months. Easter falls early this year (eggcellent) over the weekend of 30 March to 3 April, which means that, as well as our own celebrations, attractions close to Whitecliff Bay have already got their Easter events in the diary.

If you have a hot tub, we want you, your family and friends to use and enjoy your hot tub safely. It is important to be aware of the potential risks that can arise from hot tubs. Hot tubs are a recognised source of diseases caused by infections agents including the bacteria that causes legionnaires’ disease. There have been a number of outbreaks of Legionnaires’ diseases, including fatalities which have been linked to poorly designed and/or managed hot tubs. Legionnaires’ disease is caused be legionella bacteria infecting your lungs. It’s usually caught be breathing in small droplets of contaminated water. This means that other park guests may be exposed to it even if they are not using your hot tub. The Health & Safety Executive Guidance (HSG282) ‘The control of legionella and other infectious agents in spa-pool systems’ explains for to manage and control the risks from legionella and other infectious agents. We expect you to maintain your hot tubs in a safe condition to ensure the safety of your family, your guests and others using the park. The complete guidance document may be downloaded free from the HSE website and we strongly advise you to do so. http://www.hse.gov.uk/ legionnaires/spa-pools.htm We also advise you to follow and other recommendations for the hot tub manufacturer and/or supplier. Please note if you are subletting your Holiday Home, you will be deemed to be undertaking a commercial operation and your legal responsibilities with regards to the management of hot tubs will be more stringent. This will include the completion of suitable and sufficient risk assessment and implementing a strict water testing regime and management procedures. When your hot tub is not in use, it must always be covered with a suitable and secured lid to prevent accidental access by unsupervised children and potential drowning. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to contact us.
