Axonvet’s Prime Unit Model of Goat Farming
Minimum unit consists of 65 goats plus 3 bucks (preferably of Sirohi or Barbari breed), this number best utilize all the fixed investments and able to give back fine returns in 3 years after achieving breakeven point. In this unit, yearly approx. 100 (sirohi) to 200 (barbari) kids will be available for sale, depending upon management & follow up of our guidance. It require approx. 6300sqft covered area (90ftX70ft) For this unit approx. 1.2 acre (4500sqm) area is required for green fodder production, if land for green fodder is not available than arrangement of loom and legume straw is required, which is easy and affordable. Silage making can also be a good option. 2 to 3 vaccinations and 2 dewormings are required in a year and also before introduction of goats in the farm. (Most of the farms get setback due to diseases in starting of farm) Goat specific feed is also needed which is required for healthy pregnancy and heavy kids. (Many people ignore feeding and get setback due to reproductive failure) Farm recording templates will be provided by Axonvet which helps in tracking farm growth and business progress.
