The Sensors - Basic Principles exercise manual contains 56 exercises. The exercises are divided into the following categories: introductory, basic and additional exercises. The introductory exercises are intended to show the student the typical behavior of sensors. The aim here is to show which sensor can detect which material and which cannot. In the basic exercises, the most important characteristics for practical use, e.g. switching distance, detection range, response curve and switching frequency of the individual sensors, are determined. The additional exercises give the student an idea of the fields in which the sensors are used. They show, for instance, how a material selection or fill level measurement can be realized. In addition, specific interference factors for individual sensors are investigated. The basic kit and the expansion kit are needed to complete all exercises. The solution book contains the sample solution and additional detailed information about the individual exercises.

The training system with the BR 600 is supplied as a fully installed and tested system. Once connected to a 230 V socket and 6 bar compressed air, the robot is ready for use. The high dynamics of the drives and the exact position sensors ensure rapid positioning and high path accuracy. The robot is designed as a cell and stands securely on feet. For transport, half of the cell can be removed. The robot is operated by a Rexroth VCH 08 manual control unit. All safety doors and the cell are equipped with safety devices. The Z-axis has a stroke of 400 mm and can execute 360° screw motions.

A standalone system for material detection and processing. Workpieces measuring 50x50x25 mm in a wide variety of materials can be discharged from two separating magazines. A conveyor belt is used to move the workpieces and permits attached of various sensors to test the properties of the workpieces. Inductive, capacitive and optical sensors are used. Analog position measuring on a pneumatic cylinder is possible, fiber-optic technology and through-beam light barriers are attached. A ramp with associated cylinder for ejecting bad parts is also fixed with the conveyor belt. The entire motion sequence is controlled by a PLC (MLC L45). It is also possible to control the same motion options via a self-programmed app. A servo motor with regulator serves as the conveyor belt drive. A WLAN router that is connected to the controller permits wireless connection to mobile devices. Software libraries are available to simplify linking of mobile devices via app interfaces. LabVIEW, MATLAB, Simulink can be used for programming. An app sample for Android devices is provided, so programming mobile apps can be demonstrated on this system. Individual control functions can be realized with the Wind River workbench. Open interfaces (e.g. OPC) for information systems are provided. Function-ready setup and preprogrammed apps included in delivery. IP address recognition via QR code. The aluminum profile setup permits modular expansion, for instance, through addition of RFID components. Direct access to drive and control data via familiar Office applications, e.g. Excel. The basic unit consists of an IndraControl L65 control (including MLC firmware), an IndraDrive Cs, the IndraDyn MSK30 motor, as well as a Sercos bus coupler with inline I/Os. This training system is ideal to become acquainted with NC technology and to impart practical knowledge in the field of NC technology and machine tools. It is based on the IndraMotion MTX system solution and has a modular structure: A control cabinet PC, HMI, and NC control system make up the first module. A 3-axis model including electrical drives is available as an additional module. All of the components (IndraMotion MTX performance L65, IndraDrive Cs, IndraDyn MS2N, Rexroth inline I/Os and IndraControl VPP as well as IndraControl VAM) are industrial series components that are used on machine tools. Using the 3-axis model, NC programming as well as operation and programming with the NC operating software IndraWorks Operation can be demonstrated. The training system is also ideal for training in the commissioning and configuration as well as maintenance and servicing of the IndraMotion MTX system solution. This is done with the IndraWorks engineering tool. The training system is extremely flexible: The 3-axis model (without the HMI module) is suitable for training purposes pertaining to the drive-based motion logic IndraMotion MLD. Replacing the MTX firmware with the MLC firmware also makes use for robot control possible. Prior to this the system needs to be upgraded to functional safety technology. Its compact and lightweight design makes the training system ideal for use in the office and laboratory. With this practical setup using original components of the Tightening System 350, very simple bolting applications such as those found in manufacturing can be implemented and tested. These are not just simulated in software; rather, real bolting is started for a tightening case. The tightening case hardness can even be changed by simply exchanging the tightening case. Since two complete tightening channels are provided, complex sequences with synchronization and rework can be executed. It goes without saying that the existing 24 V, Profibus and Ethernet interfaces can be used without any restrictions. The tightening channel itself consists of the card rack field BT356, the supply module VM350, the tightening controller SE352M with interface module IM24V, the servo amplifier LTS350D, the motor line SLWF1,5, the motor EC303, the planetary gearbox 3GE27 or 3GE67, the measuring transducer 3DMC060 and the output drive G2A152. Two of these tightening channels are provided in the card rack field. In addition, there is a communication unit KE350GIL with the interface modules IMpdp for Profibus and IM24V for 24 V signals. The training system is ideal for both instruction of employees and simulation of changes before they are introduced in manufacturing. Since two complete tightening channels are incorporated in a compact manner, this system is especially well-suited for a variety of uses in the office, meeting rooms and laboratory.
