ABOUT POST- MCQUEEN EMBRYOS
Post-9/11, Post-Tsunamis, PostEarthquakes, Post-Olympics, PostHadid; Post- McQueen. Alexander McQueen (1969-2010) was one of the most influential and provocative designers of his generation. His clothing challenged the generic and conventional parameters of fashion to express culture, politics, identity. McQueen saw beyond clothing design physical constraints its ideological and conceptual possibilities, addressing questions related to race, gender, religion, sexuality and environment. AAtelier participants took part of a collective embryo-genesis engaging McQueen’s DNA and legacy onto a novel and crucial debate about fashion in the Post-McQueen Era.

THE STUDIO
haute (cul)ture AAtelier, Spring/ Summer 2012 From the current global financial situation to the useless gossip magazines propaganda, Haute (Cul)ture will implement the multidisciplinary aspect of architecture in terms of design and production, as a possible way out to tackle the lack of behavioral creativity and sculptural tactics in couture. The workshop will instrumentalise uncommon methods of design and production to couture (laser cutting, cnc milling, 3d software) while implementing them to its existing heritage: sculpting, deforming, scaling, mutating, accumulating, emphasizing (the body). This will serve us as tools to reach a total freedom of form finding and creation.
