FOUNDATION FOR INTER-CULTURAL DIALOGUE

ARIZONA CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL

Dear Teacher, The Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue (FID) is organizing the Second Annual Arizona Children's Festival on April 27, 2014 at the Mesa Arts Center. The Festival is open to all children in Arizona and to their parents and admission is free. The Festival includes music/dance performances by children representing different cultures/traditions, an artwork contest for elementary school children, and an essay contest for middle school children. The theme of the festival is determined as “diversity”. Students who are participating in the artwork are expected to respond to the theme of each contest, respectively. Through the stage performances and the contests, we believe that this Festival will serve to increase our children's awareness to diversity, enrich their education, and encourage their creativity. We believe this contest would be a good experience for them if they are encouraged to do the artwork or write an essay. Here, teachers play a key role. The support of teacher is important to the development of children, and for intellectual development the support of the teacher is vital. We request you to provide the knowledge and encouragement that enables students to join the contest. Therefore, we would like to reward teachers who enthusiastically encouraged children to join the contest. The sponsor teachers of the winners will be announced and honored and rewarded for their success during the festival. There are three categories in the art contest. K-3, 4-6 and 7-8 will be the categories and top 4 of the each category will rewarded with Amazon Gift Cards. $100- $75- $50 and $25 will be the rewards due to placements. Each contestant will receive a participation certificate. This year, we planned to reward teacher of the winner as well. Teachers of the 1 st place winners from each category will be rewarded with $100 Amazon Gift Card as well. If a teacher has more than one 1 st place winners, she/he will be rewarded that many Gift Card as well. Therefore, we would like you to encourage your students to participate in the artwork and essay contests and come to the festival on April 27th.
