Using all theatrical means available - music, light, animation, words, dancing, clowning, tragedy, puppets and singing - to create theatre that is alive and by turns comic, tragic, ridiculous and disturbing.

Looking into the Future 2009 and beyond

Baborรณ Development In 2009 Baboro will host a conference built around a showcase of internationally acclaimed work. Through exploration, informed discussion and dialogue, the conference aims to inform practitioners, researchers and academics about the benefits of providing young children with access to the arts. With the information gleaned from the conference, Baborรณ hopes to effect change in the provision of arts for children, and help develop a more creative environment for all of our young people. The conference, and its showcase, also hopes to offer inspiration to artists in Ireland, who seek to create work of quality for young children. International Baborรณ will join 11 other international organisations as part of the Small Size Network, an organisation that focuses on the arts for children 0 to 6 years. Ireland Baborรณ looks forward to working with Macnas as they develop a new and exciting production to premiere in Baborรณ 2009.

Morgan O’Brien Baboró Brochure Artist for 2008 Morgan is a Galway artist, who has exhibited his paintings throughout Ireland. After years of formal training as a traditional animator he decided to specialise in the areas of children's illustration and design. Since then he's been working on his own children's books as well as freelance art and design projects. Morgan's work draws on the innocence and beauty of childhood life, while taking inspiration from nature, and the world around us. www.morganobrienart.com Baboró is extremely grateful to this amazing artist for his fabulous art work in this year’s brochure.
