Welcome to Bishop Auckland College Please find enclosed a copy of your Learning Agreement. In order to monitor and improve our services we have also enclosed an evaluation form for you to complete and return to our freepost address.

What happens next? Full time Students We will invite you back to the College for the second stage of your application where you will meet with your tutor, visit your subject area and find out more about your course. Following your GCSE results you will once again be invited into the College to discuss your results with a tutor. Advisors will also be on hand to assist with any concerns or questions you may have.

Part Time Students The date and time of your chosen course/s is shown on your Learning Agreement. We will not contact you again unless amendments are made to the course so please attend on the correct day and time. Room details will be available in the Reception area upon your arrival at the College. In the meantime if you would like to discuss your enrolment please do not hesitate to contact Client Services.

Check out the facilities available at Bishop Auckland College Salons We offer a range of treatments in our Beauty Salon from facial treatments, tanning to nail extensions. Also a range of complimentary therapy treatments including Swedish body/Indian head massage, aromatherapy and reflexology. Our Hairdressing Salons offer a range of services including highlights, cutting and pinning up hair.

Catering Facilities We offer an exciting selection of dinners, lunches and themed evenings for you and your party to enjoy. The Mitre restaurant seats 40 people and offers a 3 course table d’hote menu. A comprehensive wine list is available and a good selection of soft drinks. The Mocha Café Bar and Lounge seats 20 to 40 people. The Meeting Place is glass fronted and seats up to 200 guests.

Sports Facilities Do you need to get fit or toned? Membership is only £10 per year, includes your induction, membership card and use of the fitness suite at various times.

Client Services Information, Advice & Guidance Supporting you at every stage of your learning Client Services is based in the main reception of the College.

Information A wide range of information is available, including course leaflets and fact sheets. We also maintain a comprehensive Careers Library.

Advice A daily drop-in service is available for general advice on College courses.

Careers Guidance We provide guidance on Education, Employment, Higher Education and Work-Based Learning for young people and adults. Make an appointment to speak to a Careers Adviser in College or at one of our Outreach Centres.

Student ID Cards Your ID card will enable you to access the Library and College computers. If you haven’t already been given a student ID card ask at our reception desk.

Childcare caring for your children Bishop Auckland College operates an excellent on-site nursery, caring for children from birth to 5 years. Fully qualified, dedicated staff provide care and education following the new Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum. During school holidays a fully supervised play-scheme operates for children aged 4 to 14. The nursery and play scheme are both registered and inspected by Ofsted.

Building for the Future at Bishop Auckland College These are exciting times, May 2007 saw the completion of the first phase of the £17.3 million landmark development for the new Bishop Auckland College on its Woodhouse Lane campus. This phase of building includes new high quality teaching and learning facilities which have replaced the original College that was built in the late 1950s to serve the expanding education and training needs of the communities of South and West Durham. The planning of phase 2 is well underway and will contain brand new facilities for Technology, Art & Design and Music & Performing Arts.
