Luzon Grid to be in full capacity again as Santa Rita Power Plant’s new transformer starts running BATANGAS City – The Philippines first gas-fired power plant, Santa Rita Power Plant, will soon be operating at full capacity, following the delivery of a new 318 MVA transformer from China, sources told Balikas over the weekend. Even based in a disclosure with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) Friday, First Gas Power Corporation (FGPC), a subsidiary of First Gen Corporation, has received its order of a 318 MVA transformer, shipped at the Port of Batangas from Shanghai, China. It will replace the former’s damaged transformer in the power plant’s Unit 40. After the complete installation and commissioning of the transformer, a power capacity amounting to 250 MW WORKERS monitor the delivery of a 318-megavolt-ampere transformer for one of the four units of First will be added to the Luzon grid soon. The Santa Rita power plant’s operator, Siemens Power Gas Power Corp.’s Santa Rita natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant in the port of Batangas City.
