We have supported members through a challenging 12 months With the hurdles of COVID-19, Brexit, changes to plant passporting, a rise in demand and material and labour shortages to navigate, the past year has been difficult for our members. The team at Landscape House has continued to work hard for you to support you through these testing times. We have provided helpful documents, templates and other resources to restart and rebuild in the face of the global pandemic. We have lobbied government and published sector specific research and continued to collaborate to improve industry standards, so that our membership network has been able to flourish. And our careers initiative GoLandscape continues to inspire the next generation of talent into the industry.
Leading the way We are proud to have launched two new initiatives leading the way in the landscaping industry: Mental Health First Aid Training We are focusing on the often-overlooked importance of mental health support in the landscaping and horticulture sectors and have launched a series of Mental Health First Aid courses. The courses are being offered at a subsidised rate as part of our commitment to support members have a trained Mental Health First Aider in their business by 2023. Access All Areas: Inclusion and Diversity Our Access All Areas: Inclusion and Diversity panel discussion was the first step in starting to discuss the barriers that people within the industry face and how we can overcome them together. We are committed to doing more, read further on page 10.

Driving digital advancement
We will continue to address the skills shortage being experienced in the industry via the work of our careers initiative GoLandscape. Further significant initiatives will be announced in the New Year that will go a long way to attract the next generation of talent into the landscaping and horticulture sector.
We will be making strides in our digital communications with the implementation of a new Marketing and Communications Strategy to maximise the rebrand launched in April 2021. You will see more targeted campaigns, streamlined digital processes and increased online advertising promoting the importance of working with an Accredited landscape professional.

Final words
We are excited to be celebrating a landmark anniversary in 2022 as the Association turns 50. Befitting of the occasion we have a year of activity planned to honour the significance of this milestone and to celebrate our members and their achievements.
We will build on the work of the Access All Areas panel discussion to drive the narrative on inclusion and diversity in the industry. We are committed to driving positive change and to actively facilitate and encourage discussion on how businesses within the industry are currently run and where opportunities exist to improve.
In what has been another unpredictable year we would like to thank you for taking out membership with the British Association of Landscape Industries.
