WELCOME TO THE EUROPA-PARK HOTELS
a warm
welcome at the
europa-park hotels
With its “Travellers’ Choice Awards 2013”, the travel portal TripAdvisor has honoured the most popular attractions – in Germany, Europe and the world – for the first time. Europa-Park in Rust garnered the award based on the assessments of millions of holidaymakers who voted it the most popular theme park in Germany and Europe. We also scooped up the award for our hotels in the „Family“ category. We are very proud of these accolades and would like to thank all our guests for their countless votes.
Members of HolidayCheck have voted Europa-Park’s Hotel “Colosseo” Germany‘s best family hotel for a holiday with their loved-ones. Meanwhile, the hotels “Castillo Alcazar”, “Bell Rock” and “Santa Isabel” were also voted TopHotels. This makes Europa-Park the only resort worldwide to receive four TopHotel awards at a single location. “A top hotel with a top service! It really was an experience. The competence and friendliness of the staff, and the hotel’s cleanliness, wide range of entertainment options, pleasant atmosphere and strong focus on service are impressive.” Thanks to everyone for this fabulous response!

el andaluz 4-star themed hotel
Mediterranean style + Moorish legacy = authentic Spanish hospitality ¡Hola, amigos! “El Andaluz” welcomes you with warm Mediterranean colours, Moorish style architecture and unstinting Spanish hospitality. After you have settled into your air-conditioned themed suite, you can stroll through the large palm garden or take a dip in the heated outdoor pool – where your children are no doubt already splashing around. Once you have dried off in the “Spanish” holiday sun, it’s time for some tapas at the restaurant “Don Quichotte” or a homemade sangria on the terrace of the bar “El Circo”. And then? A siesta maybe? Or you can relax completely at the wellness oasis “Marrakesh” with steam bath, dry sauna and Oriental relaxation area. As Spanish as it gets!

¡Viva España!
Spanish fire ¡Olé! Fiesta at the “El Andaluz” Can you hear the infectious sound of the castanets? The rich tones of the Spanish guitar? And the quick and rhythmic steps of a hot-blooded Flamenco dancer? Then you have arrived at Spain’s Mediterranean South.
Your first impression: a heavy cast-iron chandelier hangs from the glass ceiling of the lobby. Directly underneath is a gently splashing fountain and in the inner courtyard you could almost imagine yourself in a Moorish caliph’s palace.
Take a leisurely stroll in the gardens of the Alhambra, lulled by the fragrance of cypresses and the splashing of the water fountains. Admire the Moorish elements and decorative arcades, the legacy of Arab conquerors and on you go to the Costa del Sol, where the sun (almost) always shines. Tangy sea air, white beaches and the gleaming light of the coast – Spanish lifestyle and culture are an added attraction for sun worshippers. The old town of Seville is a hive of activity, and its labyrinth of narrow streets turn a stroll into a tantalising interlude. You can also entice your palate in a typical Spanish bodega, with tapas, paella and tinto. But take care that the red wine doesn’t rush straight to your head – although a little extra Spanish fire won’t do any harm. Viva la vida! And now we’d like to let you in on a secret: everything that Spain’s South has to offer is also available at the “El Andaluz”. ¡Viva España! – right on your doorstep.
15
Slumber as softly as the king of Spain The “El Andaluz” has 192 rooms and suites: standard, premium, comfort and deluxe, themed suites and the Royal suite – all in cheerfully coloured Andalusian design and with tasteful details – attractive murals above your bed, lamps creating a pleasant lighting effect, and romantic four-poster beds.
16
A DREAM OF A SUITE A host of little lamps to cast a rosy glow, velvet cushions and covers decorated with coats of arms, and everything in a golden frame – just as Juan Carlos I, king of Spain, might be expected to sleep.
17
18
SUITES
Picturesque and royal THEMED SUITES Many of the air-conditioned themed suites with separate bedroom and living room are dedicated to the great Spanish painters: the Renaissance artist El Greco, the Baroque Diego Velázquez and Francisco de Goya, who was so strongly influenced by him. Needless to say, you can also admire the paintings by these grand masters in the suites.
ROYAL SUITE The joy of a morning newspaper is not reserved for kings but can also be appreciated by the occupants of the Royal suite. The suite can accommodate up to four guests in the bedroom with double bed and an adjacent living room with bunk bed and couch. Air-conditioning, mini-bar, two flat-screen TVs, a bathroom with bathtub and a balcony with sun loungers are a must for a royal visit.
ROOMS
From practical to comfortable STANDARD ROOMS All standard rooms have a telephone and desk, free high-speed Internet and a flat-screen TV. The nonsmoking rooms can comfortably accommodate up to four guests.
STANDARD ROOMS “PREMIUM” For guests seeking the perfect room climate, the premium standard rooms all have air-conditioning as well as recently renovated bathrooms.
“COMFORT” ROOMS The spacious room size of the “Comfort” rooms makes a sofa bed available so that 3 people can stay. Additionally it has a balcony and mini-bar.
“DELUXE” ROOMS “Deluxe” rooms have a bedroom with double bed and a living room with bunk bed and couch, providing ample room for up to five guests.
19
Pleasurably refreshing
Flamingo red, sun yellow, sea blue – the façade of the “El Andaluz” alone puts you in a holiday mood. Added to that are Moorish elements and arcades, the legacy of the former Arab conquerors of Andalusia. Not to forget the invigorating outdoor pool, palms, cypresses and fountains. Enough to make you feel like a caliph in your own palace. What better way to enjoy your holiday?
20
Pool or Oriental wellness area? The view from the arcades to the inner courtyard – and vice versa – is fantastic. It’s up to you to decide where to spend your siesta. Would you prefer a refreshing swim in the azure outdoor pool before drying off on a sun lounger? Or rather visit the wellness area with its Oriental ambiance, Moroccan steam bath, dry sauna “Agadir” and relaxation area with loungers and an ice fountain? Take your pick!

Rich Mediterranean cuisine
Andalusian style From octopus to jamón Ibérico
RESTAURANT “DON QUICHOTTE” Miguel Cervantes’s Don Quixote de la Mancha was a satire on the then popular tales of chivalry. Our Spanish inspired à la carte restaurant is not a parody but a highly successful establishment. bar “EL CIRCO” “Clear the ring!” The bar is designed like a circus: lots of small coloured lights, wooden clowns, artiste figures – and a ceiling like a big top!
Comelona is an opulent meal and there are plenty of those in Andalusia! These dishes are a mixture of various cultural influences – late Antiquity, the Moorish occupation and overseas trade. Before the main meal, diners often eat tapas, small snacks served with lots of garlic and hot spices. In rural areas they like to serve grilled Butifarra. Iberico or Bellota pork dishes are also widespread, served with beans, aubergines and pepper. On the coast, of course, there is a predominance of fish dishes, often fried: be it mussels, cuttlefish or prawns – all kinds of delicious foods are enjoyed here. In summer the dishes tend to be lighter: gazpacho, a cold vegetable soup, for example. Andalusia is world-famous for its paella dishes, air-dried Iberico ham, goat and sheep cheese and sherry. Now it’s up to you: try out the substantial dishes in the rustic-style à la carte restaurant “Don Quichotte”. The menu ranges from classic paella to skewered meat, served of course with a tinto at just the right temperature. To finish off, you can treat yourself to a fruity cocktail at the bar “El Circo” – in the big top or on the snug terrace in the inner courtyard in front of the illuminated arcades of the “El Andaluz”.

Defiant battlements + stately vaulted ceilings = the adventure of medieval Spain Welcome to the Middle Age! The Spanish flag flies in the wind on the highest castle tower as you pass through the stone walls of the historical “Castillo Alcazar”. The sumptuously rustic chambers offer something for all tastes: wooden beds fit for a knight or romantic four-poster beds in the presidential suites for sweet slumbers. Just tell the page or serving girl what you prefer! The children’s water playground “Pueblo del Agua” is the place for daring battles and in the evening you can enjoy a rich and convivial feast. Castle romance under the Spanish flag
FOR KNIGHTS OF ALL AGES Back to the Middle Age at the “Castillo Alcazar” Do you know El Cid? No? He was the son of a minor Castilian noble and a knight at the time of the Reconquista, the Christian reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula. His successful conquests and his numerous adventures made him into a national hero. His legendary sword can still be admired in the cathedral in Burgos.
A new adventure behind every door: the 4-star “Castillo Alcazar” castle hotel combines the MYSTICAL MIDDLE AGE with modern conveniences – offering appropriately decorated rooms with many authentic details.
It’s a pity that you can no longer meet the popular caballero, but you can follow in his footsteps! Enjoy the mysticism and dark secrets of a medieval castle – combined with all modern comforts and facilities. The old Spanish Castillo looks down at the Park landscape imposingly, bringing the Middle Age back to life. The 33-m battlements towers up majestically and the armour on the walls shines brilliantly, while the age-old beams and hidden niches in the vaulted rooms quietly relate adventure stories from bygone days. Bold wouldbe knights and dainty noblewomen only need to listen closely! Though time seems to have stood still a thousand years ago, your journey back in time at the “Castillo Alcazar” is as simple as it can be, for you can enjoy castle romance under the Spanish flag almost on your doorstep.

They are named after Christopher Columbus, discoverer of America, and the Spanish Cardinal Mendoza. All themed suites are air-conditioned with balcony and mini-bar. The carefully chosen decorations give the chambers a noble and courtly look.
PRESIDENTIAL SUITEs The two presidential suites are situated in the lofty castle tower. They each have three rooms – a bedroom/living room with double bed, a further room with a bunk bed and seating area as well as the cosy tower room with double bed. Three rooms also mean three flat-screen TVs, air conditioning, balcony and mini bar.

Medieval revels
FEASTING, CELEBRATING, REVELLING Meat, fish and fruit galore
RESTAURANT “CASTILLO”: What do knights actually eat? It should be a hearty fare and plentiful to give strength for the next battle. A buffet is therefore the ideal solution: trying out what takes your fancy and eating as much of it as you like. Do you agree? Then head for the restaurant “Castillo” – right in front of the moat. Bar “BUENA VISTA CLUB”: At the top of the tower, on the ninth floor, is the panorama bar. Old wooden beams on the ceiling, a suit of armour, small wooden horses, a Spanish monk and various coats of arms whisk guests away to the world of the Middle Age.
In the Middle Age – between the sixth and fifteenth centuries – there were great differences in what the common people ate and what was served in the castle. The nobles had the right to hunt and therefore ate lots of meat such as wild boar, venison, rabbit and pheasant. Fishing for freshwater fish was also the prerogative of the nobility. In addition there were “higher” fruits – those picked from trees, such as pears, apples, cherries and figs. In contrast to present-day customs, sweet and savoury dishes were eaten together – meat with stewed apple, or meat casserole with herbs and dates. Large banquets were also festive occasions, with guests sitting at large tables eating, drinking, singing and watching acrobats and jugglers. We don’t know whether knights had trouble fitting into their armour after these lavish meals. Today, thank goodness, this is no longer a problem – and you can therefore feast, drink and, if you wish, sing in our buffet restaurant to your heart’s content. El Cid and King Arthur would have been envious if they had seen the long solid wooden tables at the “Castillo”. So just enjoy it – with all your senses! Afterwards, how about a drink with a panoramic view? From the roof terrace of the bar “Buena Vista Club” you can see the whole of Europa-Park and the neighbouring themed hotels. Gentlemen and ladies alike will enjoy the delicious cocktails.

Royal chambers + monastic mystique = Portuguese serenity Welcome to the monastery! And a very special one at that: because at the “Santa Isabel you can enjoy monastic calm and serenity without having to renounce worldly pleasures. The blue and white azulejo tiles and wood-panelled walls behind the monastery gates welcome visitors with an authentic Portuguese touch. The opulent themed suites offer feudal comfort and the luxurious Sagrado suites will satisfy even the most demanding requirements. High up in the monastery you can enjoy the wellness treatments in the fifth-floor panoramic spa. How about a stroll in the herb garden before dinner? And if you are still not ready to retire, a glass of port wine in an armchair in front of a roaring fire should finally make you a fan of Portuguese serenity, spelled c-a-l-m-a.

Relaxed monastic mystique Taking it easy in the “Santa Isabel” We don’t know whether Santa Isabel of Portugal once lived so luxuriously, but we do know that the former queen of Portugal and later Franciscan nun had a big heart. This generosity now fills the halls of the superior themed hotel named after her.
ACCOMPANIED BY CHORAL SINGING AND THE SCENT OF INCENSE: At the reception, an authentic monastery gate, you will be given not only your room key but also the key to holiday bliss.
How does a day of absolute quiet and relaxation unfold at the “monastery”? You can start with a stroll through the herb garden, enjoying the sight and fragrance of rosemary, thyme, coriander and many others. Afterwards you can enjoy a short moment of contemplation at the “Saint James’s Chapel”, followed by some physical exercise in the outdoor pool. Finally you can indulge your body and soul in the spa, which offers something for the entire family; a royal massage for her, a monk’s dream for him and a guardian angel for the children. Now you’re ready to devote your attention to culinary matters! You can enjoy traditional Portuguese cuisine in the buffet restaurant and then toast your newfound holiday mood in the beer cellar with the homebrewed “Klosterbräu Santa Isabel”. As you can see, you don’t have to be a monk or a nun to enjoy the seclusion and Portuguese pleasures at the “Santa Isabel”.

Peaceful dreams
in monastic calm
The hotel “Santa Isabel” has only 66 rooms and suites spread out over the four floors of the small but elegant building. There are standard and “Deluxe” rooms, as well as individually designed themed and Sagrado suites. One of them is named after the Portuguese king Manuel I, known as Manuel the Fortunate.
KING MANUEL I SAGRADO SUITE This suite is furnished in blue and warm brown tones. Under the regency of Manuel I Portugal experienced an economic and cultural heyday. The stately Manueline architectural style is also named after him.

suiteS Discover new worlds THEMED SUITES The themed suites follow in the footsteps of famous Portuguese seafarers like Vasco da Gama, who discovered the sea passage to India, or the circumnavigator Fernando Magellan, on their voyages of discovery. Our themed suites can comfortably accommodate up to four guests. They have a bedroom with double bed and a living room/bedroom with a bunk bed and a couch, two flat-screen TVs, bathroom with bathtub and shower, balcony and mini-bar – what more could you want?
SAGRADO SUITES Santa Isabel, King Manuel I and a prior will be happy to tell you about their lives in the Sagrado suites named after them. The suites are very generously proportioned with deluxe furnishings and carefully chosen royal and monastic fittings.
ROOMS Simplicity combined with luxury STANDARD ROOMS A far cry from Spartan monastic cells, our air-conditioned standard rooms have a telephone and desk, free high-speed Internet and a flat-screen TV; most rooms additionally have an open bathroom area. Room sizes are available to accommodate from one to six guests. Proverbs and pictures of saints on the walls give these rooms a contemplative feel.
“DELUXE” ROOMS The “Deluxe” rooms on the fourth floor have cool drinks from the mini-bar and a room safe, combining monastic simplicity with modern luxury.

Monastic relaxation
The most restful of rest cures Herbs, beer and heavenly powers
WELLNESS & SPA: Back, whole body and hot stone massages with selected oils from the “Santa Isabel” spa product line will give you renewed strength, exfoliation treatments and packs will invigorate your body, luxurious baths are pure indulgence and the different body rituals will help your vital energies to flow. POOL AND SAUNA: With a few powerful strokes you can swim from indoors into the large outdoor pool. A heavenly pleasure awaits you in the sauna area “Conspectus Gallia” and relaxation room “Astrum Aurea” with its starry ceiling.
What does a monastery have to do with wellness? Much more than you think! Monks and nuns are often experts in herbal medicine and know a lot about the link between a healthy and attractive body and mind. Take herbal exfoliation for example, the healing power of home grown monastery herbs unleashed within pure oil give your skin a new softness. What about a beer bath? Not only men will enjoy this completely natural bath additive which makes the skin wonderfully smooth. A bath with health-giving hops and malt aromas cares for the body without the distinctive beer smell. Heavenly powers and universal forces take wellness into a whole new dimension with luxurious two-hour treatments like “The joy of jupiter”, “The magic of the moon” or “The Power of the Sun”. As any monk or nun will tell you, time is important for wellness and relaxation, so you should just sit back and take all the time you need to recuperate. Our sauna area is heavenly – it has for example a hand-painted firmament in the vaulted ceiling of the relaxation room. In the blue stone bath you can recharge your batteries before sweating out your cares in the dry sauna with a view of the Vosges through the dormer window. Whether terrestrial or heavenly, it is quite simply divine.

Portuguese specialities
Simple and delicious Dried fish, goat and sweet rice
RESTAURANT “SALA SANTA ISABEL”: There is a herbal remedy for just about every ailment including hunger and overeating. The apothecary wall is therefore a welcome addition to this speciality restaurant. Your serving monk will tell you about possible risks and side effects! RESTAURANT “BRAUEREIKELLER”: It was particularly difficult to be a monk or nun during Lent, when no food or drink was allowed between sunrise and sunset. However there is no need to go hungry at the à la carte restaurant, it presents international cuisine in a vaulted monastery cellar.
The Portuguese love plain cooking; simple and nourishing but interestingly flavoured with garlic, coriander, nutmeg, oregano, thyme, bay leaves or the small red piri-piri chilli peppers. The Portuguese national dish is bacalhau, salted and dried cod, which can be prepared in countless ways. It has been popular since the seafaring days of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries when explorers would take the preserved fish with them on their voyages. Other types of fish and seafood feature strongly in Portuguese cuisine: for example, sardines, swordfish and tuna, crab and crayfish. Meat lovers will also find plenty to tempt them with goat, beef and lamb dishes, pork, turkey and even pigeon. And for dessert? Delicious, high calorie desserts with lots of egg yolk and sugar. You can choose between arroz doce (sweet rice), pudim caseiro (egg custard with caramel sauce) or pastéis (custard-filled flaky pastry specialities). At the “Sala Santa Isabel” buffet restaurant you can try out everything that appeals to you, accompanied by sparkling vinho verde or sweet port or madeira – and the home-made “Apotheke” herbal liqueur as a digestive. Bom apetite!

The bedroom/living room has a double bed and there is a bunk bed in the separate children’s room. Air conditioning ensures that the room temperature is ideal in summer and winter alike.

VENUS’S SECRET OF INDULGENCE Pool, sauna, spa and massages
WELLNESS & SPA: Our wellness team will indulge you with typical regional spa packages or exotic relaxation treatments. Your partner and children are also taken care of, with our Men Special programme or Honey Bee children’s massage. The Wellness & Spa “Colosseo” offers relaxation for the entire family. POOL AND SAUNA: Swim from the heart of the spa area under the Coliseum arch to the 25-metre long outdoor pool. After you’ve done your lengths you can try out the Venus steam bath and “Pompeii” Roman sauna in the cool of the evening.
Venus was the Roman goddess of love and beauty. Her charm was admired in many ways. For the painters of the Renaissance the mythological Venus was a popular motive for nude paintings. Even a day of the week – venerdi in Italian – is named after her. This doesn’t mean, of course, that you can only indulge in beauty treatments on Fridays. The Wellness & Spa “Colosseo” offers supreme indulgence every day of the week. We find inspiration in Venus’s beauty tips, for instance with the rose symphony for the face, neck and décolleté, the nurturing Barrique Wine bath or the Roman Spa package for sleek, silky skin. We also offer an all-round relaxation package for all requirements: soothing hot-stone massages, aromas and cocoa butter, medical wellness and lymph drainage, medical massages, thalasso therapy for face and body, bath therapies alone or with a partner, Ayurveda for deep relaxation and to energize as well as beauty treatments for all problem areas. Finally you can tone your body with a few lengths in the pool or sessions in the steam bath and sauna. The ancient Romans already knew of the positive effects of steam heat. You can also join the organised Nordic walking tours through the idyllic Rhine valley. Sport and sweating is healthy and will keep you looking your best. So you are sure to turn heads as you stroll across the piazza in the evening.

AN EVENING as in ancient rome
There are five restaurants surrounding the “Colosseo” piazza in which you can indulge your taste buds; the “Antica Roma” buffet restaurant, “Medici” and “Cesare” à la carte restaurants, “Colosseo” panorama bar and “Commedia dell’Arte” café. Guests who stay with us longer can try out all of them to their heart’s content.
“antica roma”: As it gradually gets cooler outside, the fire in the stone chimney with laurel wreath, torches and candlelight looks highly inviting, creating a welcoming atmosphere in which Caesar and Cleopatra themselves would not look out of place.

Buon Appetito!
FEASTING AS IN BELLA ITALIA Pomodori, panna cotta and more BAR “COLOSSEO” AND CAFÉ “COMMEDIA DELL’ARTE”: The bar on the fifth floor has a large selection of spirits and cocktails, while the café on the piazza offers delicious espresso and gelati. BUFFET RESTAURANT “ANTICA ROMA”: At the “Antica Roma” you can dine like the Romans with a warm and cold gourmet buffet featuring Italian and international cuisine. À LA CARTE RESTAURANTS “MEDICI” AND “CESARE”: Guests at the stylish “Medici” can enjoy a romantic and delicious dinner in soft light. Only the best ingredients from the garden, kitchen or cellar are served at the Cesare, accompanied by a selection of choice Italian or international wines.
The words on the Italian menu are already mouth-watering enough. Crema di pomodoro sounds and tastes much more exciting than for example tomato soup! How about a deliciously fine zuppa di pesce or fish soup? Not to mention the fresh and healthy antipasti and pasta, prepared with the best olive oil, crisp vegetables and fragrant herbs. And, of course, seafood, fish and meat served to perfection. To round off, there is panna cotta, tiramisu and a cappuccino, or tangy cheese platter. Buona, la cucina italiana! You can choose between the buffet restaurant “Antica Roma” with its warm and cold gourmet buffet, and the à la carte restaurants “Medici” and “Cesare”, where your favourite dish is prepared with the best ingredients. Pizza, pasta or pesce – Italian cuisine has something for everyone! Finally, you can round off the day with an espresso and ice cream in the panoramic fifthfloor hotel bar or outside on the piazza as you enjoy romantic moments watching a sparkling water show. For special occasions there is also the tastefully rustic wine cellar “Enoteca di Siena”. Feeling hungry?

Bell Rock 4-star superior hotel
Maritime atmosphere + an expedition to the eighteenth century = the flair of New England Come aboard, follow in the footsteps of the Pilgrim Fathers and discover the Northeast Coast of America. The 35-m lighthouse offers a panoramic view of the hotel complex “Bell Rock”. If you don’t happen to have a telescope with you, you can just explore the site from below. Stroll through the elegant lobby, sample typical New England cuisine at “Captain’s Finest” or some international flavours at the restaurant “Harborside” and then take a dip – with your entire family of explorers – from the “Mayflower” into the Atlantic-blue pool. Your next seafarer experience awaits you in your room, in the form of boat shaped bunk beds, where the young sailors can romp until the captain orders lights out. You can enjoy a fruity cocktail at the bar, discussing maritime manoeuvres as you savour the sense of independence and North American flair.

To the birthplace of the USA
IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE PILGRIMS Emigrate to New England in the “Bell Rock” The Pilgrim Fathers were the first English settlers on the Northeast Coast of the United States. They sailed in 1620 in the Mayflower over the Atlantic and founded a settlement at Plymouth in present-day Massachusetts. Although the Pilgrims were not the first settlers in what was to become the USA but they played a major role as pioneers in American folklore.
After passing through the imposing columned entrance, you will be no less impressed by the lobby and reception area with carefully chosen wooden panelling, large stone tiles and a sweeping manor house staircase leading to your room or suite.
An exciting era and an experience you wish you could have shared? Well, you can or at least you can follow in the footsteps of the Pilgrim Fathers. A stay at the “Bell Rock” is like an expedition to the Northeast Coast of America in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Sleep like an English lord in the soft beds of our maritime themed suites. You can enjoy best steaks from the Midwest of the USA, tartar Black Angus beef as well as lobster from Maine or tuna tartar. The “Ammolite” restaurant, the exclusive fine dining restaurant in the lighthouse, is even more elegant. And at the “Spirit of St. Louis” bar you can take classic afternoon tea with homemade pastries or a cool drink in the evening to the accompaniment of live music. The celebrations of seafarers and Pilgrims a few centuries ago are re-enacted at the “Bell Rock”; authentic but with a modern twist. The birthplace of the United States – just round the corner.

lighthouse suites What goes round …
There are six suites in the lighthouse, all of them round and therefore extra special. Named after major US statesmen like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson or Abraham Lincoln, they offer guests a bedroom with double bed, a children’s room with bunk bed, a small balcony, bathroom, separate toilet, flat-screen TV, iHome radio alarm and many presidential details.
“AHOI HEIMAT” by stefan strumbel The “Ahoi Heimat” lighthouse suite, designed by Black Forest artist Stefan Strumbel, is completely white and is equipped with all modern extras.
JOHN F. KENNEDY The split-level John F. Kennedy suite at the top of the lighthouse has a panoramic view. Not to be outdone in terms of comfort, it not only offers the conveniences of the other lighthouse suites but also a sauna and whirlpool. JFK would surely have felt at home here.
presidential suites Duplex luxury
The large presidential suites are spread over two floors. There are twelve of them at the “Bell Rock”, in the Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island buildings. A ship’s ladder connects the lower bedroom with its box-spring double bed to the upper level. There is also a living room area with bunk bed, two bathrooms, two separate toilets and a mini-bar. The dark floor panelling is reminiscent of ship’s planks. The dominant colours are white and blue, the colour of the ocean. The free bottle of water and fresh fruit will help visitors find their sea legs. Ship ahoy!

Suites
Exclusive and cosmopolitan
penthouse suites The penthouse suites on the third floor are particularly exclusive. The two en-suite bedrooms with double beds and the living room with a bunk bed can comfortably accommodate six people. The wonderfully soft box-spring beds guarantee sweet dreams. Themed suites Our themed suites will take you on a trip around the world. The bedroom with double bed and living room area with a bunk bed offer space for the entire family and are designed down to the smallest detail in Asian, African, Indian, Latin American or Oriental style. You can sleep in snug box-spring beds and there are two flat-screen TVs and a mini-bar.

An American dream
Fit for new worlds Gym, Zumba and thalasso therapy The long, exciting and sometimes stormy voyage across the Atlantic on the Mayflower must have been quite an ordeal for the Pilgrim Fathers. Those who arrived healthy and fit in the New World, the coast of North America, will have realised just how fortunate they were.
POOL, SAUNA AND WELLNESS Indoors or outdoors? The “Bell Rock” pool area has both – heated, of course. There are also relaxing saunas and wellness treatments to indulge in.
In our hotel world we also take care of your health and fitness in our modern Fitness & Spa New England. ATLANTIC TASTE
NEW ENGLAND DELICACIES Lobster, clam chowder and cranberries
BAR “SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS”: Sailors’ yarns and delicious cocktails galore are available every evening at the “Spirit of St. Louis”, to the accompaniment of live piano music. SERVICE RESTAURANT “CAPTAIN’S FINEST”: The à la carte restaurant serves amongst other delicacies juicy steaks and lobster. BUFFET RESTAURANT “HARBORSIDE”: Colonial front cooking means that you can have meat, fish or vegetables prepared to your individual taste. FINE DINING RESTAURANT “AMMOLITE”: A very special fine dining experience awaits you on the ground floor of the lighthouse.
The six New England states have a shared culinary heritage. The first Puritan settlers brought not only their culture but also their food and drinks to the coast of North America. Five of the six New England states have direct access to the Atlantic. It is therefore hardly surprising that fish like cod or salmon, along with seafood, are staple ingredients of New England cuisine. Above all, however, lobster is available in an abundance and size rarely encountered elsewhere. Clam chowder, a thick shellfish soup, is also popular. The interior is dominated by hilly landscapes and rustic farms, producing specialities like maple syrup, cranberries and fermented apple cider. You can satisfy both hunger and thirst at the colonial front cooking restaurant “Harborside”, or else at the à la carte restaurant “Captain’s Finest” or the fine dining restaurant “Ammolite” in the lighthouse.

Sitting Firm
in company with cowboys and Indians In the natural surroundings of the Camp Resort
You can sleep at the Camp Resort in log cabins, tepees and covered wagons, including the romantic WINNETOU HONEYMOON SUITE with bearskin and electric campfire.
In his novels, Karl May described the adventures of Indian chief Winnetou and his blood brother, the Old Shatterhand. Children and adults devoured his stories – and no doubt dreamed up adventures of their own in the Wild West. At the Camp Resort these dreams come true. You can sleep in log cabins, tepees, covered wagons or in your own mobile home and experience wilderness, adventure and freedom! How about a campfire under the open skies? We will provide you with a site and with firewood – and we can also deliver steaks, sausages or salads as requested. The next day, when the prairie sun is burning again, you can go to the natural lake surrounded by an extensive sunbathing area. For the more energetic ones tennis courts, badminton and beach volleyball fields are waiting for you, as well as bull riding. Action packed Native American shows are also staged on selected dates during the high season. And children and the young at heart can experience a veritable gold rush at our gold-panning site (for a fee). There are plenty of experiences around the camp for groups, school classes and clubs. For example the Taubergiessen nature reserve on the southern upper Rhine, a bike tour through the Rhine wetlands, Freiburg, Strasbourg and the Black Forest. So saddle up and off you go!
105
Log Cabins Rustic Romance
There are eight cosy heated log cabins on the shores of the lake. The logs are piled up to rooms of different sizes: for four, six, twelve or sixteen occupants, not to mention the “Winnetou’s Honeymoon Suite”. Don’t forget your sleeping bag and towel; fitted sheets and a small pillow are provided. And for all the outdoor feel, you can still enjoy the convenience of electric lighting!
caravaning & camping Freedom on Wheels
Those who prefer to sleep in their own four walls can camp on one of the 200 sites for caravans and mobile homes. Just five minutes’ walk from Europa-Park, the site has modern sanitary facilities, a Western kiosk with bread roll delivery service, water and power outlets, tennis courts, a children’s playground and an idyllic natural lake to swim in.
106
Covered Wagons Wild West to order
There are thirteen covered wagons for cowboys to sleep in, with room for up to four adventureloving occupants. The horses have already been unharnessed. All wagons have two bunk beds and a cupboard for a small amount of luggage. Two of the wagons have a wooden roof instead of canvas. Heating, light and power are provided; remember to bring a sleeping bag and towel.
