Workshops and events

The university holds a range of careers events throughout the academic year. These include workshops delivered by employability advisers, job-hunting skills seminars, employer-led skills development sessions, and careers fairs.

Internships

If you have an idea of what sector you want to work in, an internship or placement can be a good way to gain experience and build contacts – or just to see what it is like to work in a particular field. Bangor University runs undergraduate internship schemes twice a year that allow students to work in a professional environment while learning relevant skills and earning money. There are a wide range of internships, from medical research to marketing and promotion; some courses also offer short work experience placements or projects with local companies.

Enterprise and selfemployment

The B-Enterprising programme helps students at Bangor University and graduates in Wales to develop their enterprise skills or start a new business.*

Bangor Employability Award (BEA)

Open to all students, the Bangor Employability Award recognises transferable skills built through ordinary university activities. Students gain points towards the Award through volunteering, attending workshops or actively participating in the Student Union’s clubs and societies. Taking part in the scheme can make a major difference to your performance in the graduate job market.
