Blended Learning
BUIC is committed to delivering an excellent student experience without compromising your safety. This means that we provide you with a blended learning experience which combines online and campus-based learning.
Our blended approach
Classroom teaching on campus in smaller groups (currently 3-8) so you can socially distance
Pre-recorded lesson and task content on the VLE (Blackboard) for students to access at home
Live interactive lesson content both online and face to face on campus You will receive access to the same high-quality course content
The amount of on campus and online lessons will depend on the rules and guidelines related to Covid-19 in place at the time which have to be complied with.
Benefits of Online Learning
Our online course components have been designed to manage current social distancing measures and travel restrictions to allow all our students the opportunity to continue their studies as planned. However, there are many advantages of online learning such as the convenience it offers. With your pre-recorded content, you can learn at a time that suits you. It also equips you with the digital skills you will need one day in future employment.
Important equipment you will need for our courses
All students will need to have access to a PC or laptop, with microphone and speakers, and a good internet connection throughout their course in order to engage with the on-line element of their course and assessed work.
Keeping you safe on campus
Bangor University has adopted a range of health and safety rules on campus such as a robust cleaning schedule, hand sanitising stations and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The guidelines are regularly updated to reflect the changing situation and for the latest information please always refer to the university’s dedicated FAQ’s. Alongside Bangor University campus guidelines, there will be a one-way system in place throughout the college. This is subject to change where required in order to follow the latest health and safety guidelines.
