Atelier: Olivier Leblois
The rebellious student
housing project evolved in response to a budget constaint ( 10,000 euros) and space - 33 m2, while taking a minimum of the ground space in a family garden. Four triangular support ( for the house and stairs) take you to the ground floor which forms the kitchen, living room and dinning room with a bathroom next door. Above, half-level, is the office and the students bedroom. the whole house has a light game thanks to the triangular inclined glass roof and advanced windows.

The project aims to be
able to accommodate a larger number of students at ESA (school). The idea was to release a maximum of space in the garden as more people would mean keeping the green area as big as possible. The program consists of two amphi-theaters, an art room with lighting from the north and regular classrooms through out building. A new garden is suspended through the middle of the schools allowing acces on the roof of the exisitng building. This garden holds the top of the building with thick glass walls spliting the garden into multiple small gardens to allow more intimacy for small groups of students. All circulation happens outdoor, on the inner side of the school. The first classroom is situated directly on the edge of the street to integrate into the site and to be more interactif with the street itself.

This Exercise in-
volved creating a space that was adapted for both screaming and sleeping. Here the structure is built by the interwinding race that goes in and out of the building as if trying to escape. The outer skin allows light to pierce the structure and randomly spray the circuit with light. The race consummes the participants energy and causes a collapse of fatigue in the canvas at the top of the building. Here, a slide take you all the way down, you may restart the race if you want to do more exercise.

Beckholmen island, Stockholm Atelier: Carl Frederik svenstedt
Final Project
The house influenced by time is based on a small island near stockholm.
A family home that incorporates several concepts developed in relation to time; light, movement, space intimacy and family situations. The building allows a circulation flow inside and outside including its partially glass roof, creating a fun environment proposed as an obstacle course offering more opportunity to play (including diving into stockholms cold water). The space is generated by the functionality and circulation is guided via the sloping walls and floors. The orientation of the building allows use of the sea and land.

3D modelisation
Paraboloide this project was an opportunity to learn how to use the programme RHINO 3D in order to represente objects in our Environment( in great detail). The Idea behind this was to have a startingpoint to create our new skin according to the dimensions and reproduction of the fire extiguisher. This project also gave us the chance to work with a team and take decisions together. We First re-created a fire extinguisher and next adapted a shell shape onto it. We achieved this exploring different methods to obtain odd shapes. We later prepared those shapes, lazer cut them and created our 3D model in real.

DEVELOPING THE SPACE
THE AIME WAS TO CREATE A VERANDAH ADAPTED TO THE DEMANDS OF THE CLIENT. To represent these ideas; 3d model’s were created and later photoshopped into the site with the according buildings around it. We also looked at different material choices and explained how the construction would function.

The Project is located in the centre of The Hague, between ‘paramaribostraat’ and ‘Surinam- straat’. The idea is to use some of the existing parking spots to construct a 4-storey building, planned to be used by expatriates living in The Hague for approximately 2 years.
The aim was that every apartment would be; self-contained and functioning, have its own terrace, encompass lots of natural sunlight, to be visually free from the neighbours ( as the parcel is in close proximity to other buildings), and to have at least one façade where a unobstructed view is possible. The roof will also be used as common area for the expats to meet and share a barbecue during the summer. Having a common area will help create a small community amongst them.
The available construction space consists of a rectangle 16 m long by 7,5 m wide on the corner of a very quite street. However, it is important to leave 6-8 m’s of space between the existing build- ing and the new one as to respect the neighbour’s visual privacy.
