AMELIA EARHART July 24, 1897 - July 2, 1937?

Introduction Famous Quotation: Never interrupt someone who's saying what you said couldn't be done. Best known for: Being the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
What I find interesting about her is that she never gave up on being pilot and she kept on trying.
3 Key Qualities:
I chose this person because I kept on hearing about her and I started to like her.
1. Intelligent 2. Curious 3. Risk taker
Overcame a Hardship/Challenge For the Women's Air Derby, the rules committee said the female pilots would have to ride with a male pilot or they would make the course easier. She insisted she should fly alone and got other women to agree. I know it can be really upsetting to ask for something over and over again when the person you're asking keeps saying no. I've had that experience with my brother Silas.
Showed Compassion/Empathy Amelia started an organization called the Ninety Nines. In it, she taught other women to fly and get jobs as pilots. If I were Amelia, I wouldn't teach the other growing pilots because to be honest I would just want to be the best pilot.
Took Action Amelia helped change people's attitude about women pilots. Amelia proved that women actually are strong and smart enough to have jobs outside the home. I'm glad Amelia changed things because I would feel really sad if I couldn't get to do all the stuff men got to do.
Persevered Amelia kept on having to move when she was younger. Even though she got really shy, but she never gave up and she kept on moving. If I were Amelia, I would tell my parents that I don't want to move. I feel the same when I do something new because I get shy too.
Demonstrated Bravery She was the first person to try to fly across the world.
If I were her, I wouldn't be brave enough to do that. She was making her childhood dream come true.
Author Talk I'm like my Change Maker because I like flying and she does too.
I'm a Change Maker when I stop being mean to someone. Something I think is unfair is when people do science with animals.
My Change Maker is connected to Eleanor Roosevelt because they Both like to be out in the open, explore and fly.
