The Isle of Man is shrouded by mystery, a sea-bound kingdom with its own captivating story to tell. It has a rich history that echoes through the ages and we explore it from top to bottom on its heritage trains and trams. This popular tour is a wonderful way to discover the island’s countryside, coast and attractions whilst travelling on its fabulous heritage railways. We stay in the island’s most popular resort, Douglas and the superb 3-star Rutland Hotel.

Thursday We make our way north to Heysham and the threeand-a-half-hour ferry crossing to the Isle of Man.

Friday To Ramsey, a bustling town with a busy shopping street, harbour and beach. Then to Peel, an olde-worlde fishing port noted for its kippers. Lovely scenery all day.

Saturday We catch the unique Manx Electric Railway from Douglas to Laxey. The line still operates with most of its original Victorian and Edwardian rolling stock. In Laxey we transfer to the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a ride to the summit. The ride takes about thirty-minutes and offers amazing views of Laxey Glens and the surrounding countryside. We return via the Mountain Railway and the Electric Railway and have the rest of the day free to explore Douglas.

Sunday We enjoy an hour-long, single journey you will never forget on the Isle of Man Victorian Steam Railway, described as ‘perfectly frozen in time’, from Douglas to Port Erin with its crystalclear waters and beautiful setting and we spend some time there. We then view the Calf of Man (look out for the seals!) before visiting Castletown which was the island’s former capital with its narrow streets, quaint houses, and a mediaeval castle.

Monday We return to the mainland and the journey home.

Guernsey is a place where you can escape the ordinary and discover an island bursting with local charm and inspiring nature. There are daily connections to Herm, Sark, and Alderney if you wish to explore further. This year we are staying at The Saints Bay Hotel which is named after the picturesque bay and small harbour at the foot of the cliff it sits on. It is exceptionally comfortable and renowned for its hospitality. All tours include a half day familiarisation tour of the island! We travel with Condor on one of their high-speed vessels so the journey time to Guernsey is just three hours and ten minutes. Everyone is guaranteed a seat on board and there is a restaurant, bar, duty free shop and Wi-Fi.

First Day We transfer you to Poole for the Condor to Guernsey. On the island you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel.

Whilst at resort A half day familiarisation tour is included plus a good selection of others are available through your representative.

Last Day There will be a transfer to the Condor from the hotel and we will meet you on the mainland for the journey home.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to access on and off the ferry, which is 100m walk up an incline, this holiday may not be suitable for all customers.
