DEAN BRENNAN

HEAD COACH DEAN BRENNAN

Dean, what has the week been like in training after a positive win at Maidenhead United?

We have won three of our last four league matches. How pleased are you with the players given the recent results?

“There has been a good vibe around the camp and we are all looking forward to this weekend’s match.

“There are certain players who have done really well, whilst others still need to improve.

“The lads have trained well this week but I am concerned by some of the injuries within the group.

“Unfortunately for us, there are too many players in the treatment room at the moment and it has been like that all season.

“I want to get some consistency within the squad selections but it does not seem to be happening for us at the moment.” We scored two well-worked goals last weekend but almost conceded an equaliser right at the end. Have we been looking to strengthen defensively this week in training? “I think that it is down to our concentration. “We have got a good togetherness and loads of spirit but we must be better in the closing stages of games. “The way our match at Maidenhead finished made the victory a bit sour for us. “We did do enough to win at the end of the day, but we have certainly got to learn from that.”

“It is definitely something that we are looking to change in the summer because it is difficult to switch things during a season. “It is really frustrating for us that we have not had the continuity within our squad selection. “I cannot have this amount of players constantly injured and it is not good enough. “We are now going into a busy run of fixtures in April and we are unable to rotate the squad because of injuries. “We will play the strongest team we have available against Yeovil Town and then we will see how we get on after that.”

DEAN BRENNAN

Yeovil Town have just lost their manager to Woking which must have influenced preparation, but how are you expecting the match to go? “Yeovil like to play with a diamond and have played a 4-4-2 in recent weeks. “They have won three on the bounce and have a lot of pace and creativity in midfield. “There is a lot of experience within the defence, especially with Wilkinson who is good at organising. “Charlie Lee, who has stepped in, knows this level really well and we are still expecting a tough game. “I would like to wish Darren Sarll all the best in his new job because he is a personal friend of mine.” What would you like to see from the players in terms of their work ethic? “I am expecting to see something similar to what I saw last weekend from them. “During most of my reign here, the players have worked their socks off and we need to make sure that we keep to those standards. “I think that our game management could be better, especially when we are 2-0 up, but these things can be difficult when you have players out injured.” “We have definitely given the club some stability which is something that it has needed for a while. “Now we need to see if we can be really competitive and get towards the top 10 in this division.” A special mention goes to Ephron Mason-Clark and Sam Beard who have represented England C this week. How pleased are you for them? “I am delighted for them but unfortunately the result was poor. “I watched the game and it was not a great performance by England C. “Wales C dominated physically and ran on top of them. “Ephron and Sam should be proud of themselves as it is always great to represent your country.”

TODAY’S LOOK AHEAD

SAM BEARD

Sam, first of all, congratulations on the England C call up. Can you talk us through how it felt and how it came about?

“They are a very good side but we are looking to close the gap between us and them as we look to finish the season strongly.”

“It was a very proud moment to represent my country and I am pleased Yeovil Town have lost their manager to Woking this week which to have been able to do so. could affect things, but what are you expecting from the game? “After the Maidenhead United match I was sitting at home when I received a phone call from the gaffer to explain that I have been picked. “I was delighted to be called up and it all happened very quickly because on Monday, we were on the way to Wales. How did you find the experience? “It was a great experience to be able to work with some really good players throughout the week. “To be able to wear the England training kit and jersey throughout the week was great.”

“It is always tough when a team loses a manager because the players are always up for it to show what they are about. “Our last game against Yeovil Town was a good battle and we should have got something out of the game.” We recently had a good run of games where we kept several clean sheets. What do we need to do to make sure that happens again? “We need to make sure that we are all switched on for the full 90 minutes. “We almost threw away the lead at Maidenhead after we were cruising at 2-0 up.

Where does this achievement rank in your career so far? “It is one of the best moments of my career and it is an amazing feeling.” “It made my whole family so proud and I had so many positive messages about it which was pleasing to see. You have been described as ‘Mr Consistent’ by the Barnet supporters lately. How do you think that you have been performing personally? “I think that I have been performing well and we have been playing better as a team recently. “When you pick up positive results it definitely helps your performances because of the confidence it gives you. “I have seen some of the positive messages from the fans which gives me a lift.”

“We conceded a soft goal from a free-kick which led to a nervous ending to the game. “Our defensive unit needs to make sure that we stay tight and do not give away silly set pieces.” You have played in a few different positions over the last few months. How have you found that? “Yes I have played in several positions this season including midfield and defence. “Having good relationships with all your team-mates is important to making this work. “If we do this then we can all perform well as a team to help eachother out when needed in matches. “My favourite position would be left back though.”

What do you put your consistency down to? “I have been setting my own targets and limits for every game so that I know what I must go out and achieve. “I am trying to play to my strengths and going into matches with a good mentality and a desire to win. We have won three times in our last four league games. What confidence does that give you and the rest of the team heading into a busy run of games? “We have picked up some decent results lately after coming through a tricky spell where we were very inconsistent. “We are pleased to have won three of our last four but we know that this Saturday against Yeovil Town will be a tough test.

The supporters have been right behind you for both club and country. How does that make you feel? “The Barnet fans have been great with me since the moment that Simon Bassey brought me to the club. “I see a lot of messages from them on Twitter and their energy does help me when I am out on the pitch.” Have you got a personal goal from now until the end of the season? “I just want to play every minute until the end of the season and avoid any injuries. “I would like to add a few more goals to my game as well as keep some more clean sheets too.”

THE OPPOSITION

TODAY’S OPPOSITION

Club History Yeovil Town were formed in 1895 with the club initially joining the Somerset Senior League, nicknamed “The Glovers” due to the long history of glove making in the town. The club first got promoted to the Conference after finishing as champions in 1987-88, before eventually getting relegated in 1995. It was in 1990 the club moved into their current home ‘Huish Park’, with a capacity of 9,565. Much of the club’s success has been in this stadium and is also home to the clubs Ladies team. The Glovers then got promoted again two years later after winning the Isthmian League again. The early 2000’s was a particularly success spell for the club, winning the 2002 FA Trophy Final and were promoted to the Football League for the first time in the 2002/03 campaign under Gary Johnson’s management.

Winning the League Two title in 2004/05 as the club continued it’s rise. Yeovil then went onto the reach the Championship after victory at Wembley in the League One play-off final in 2013 with Johnson back in charge of the club. Successive relegations followed as the club spiraled down to now find themselves in the National League 6 years later.

GRANT smith GRANT SMITH SIGNED FOR TOWN IN SUMMER 2021 Grant Smith signed for Town in the summer of 2021 as the club’s new number one goalkeeper. Since beginning his senior playing career in 2012, the 6ft 1ins goalkeeper has played for 10 different clubs including Hayes & Yeading United, Bognor Regis Town, Boreham Wood and Lincoln City. The 28-year-old kept 10 clean sheets in 18 appearances for Chesterfield before heading to Somerset on a one-year deal last summer.

DALE GORMAN GORMAN HAS PLAYED IN THE EFL Dale Gorman joined Yeovil Town in July 2021. The midfielder reunited with Darren Sarll who brought him over to England in his teens whilst at Stevenage. Now 25, Gorman has a National League winners medal with Leyton Orient, alongside EFL spells with the aforementioned Stevenage & a loan spell with Newport County. Most recently, the midfielder spent time in the Northern Ireland Premier Division with Glentoran, where he inspired the Glens to a third placed finish, reaching the Europa League qualifying rounds in the process.

MORGAN WILLIAMS MORGAN WILLIAMS JOINED THE GLOVERS IN 2021 A familiar face to most Glovers fans, Williams enjoyed two short term loan spells with the club from Coventry City. Making an instant impact in his first spell, Williams kept a clean sheet on his debut against FC Halifax Town after just one training session with the club. Prior to joining the Glovers on loan first time round, Williams had already made his first team bow for Coventry, lining up in the Checkatrade Trophy against Arsenal and later started in League One against Fleetwood Town.

TOM KNOWLES KNOWLES CAME THROUGH CAMBRIDGE UNITED’S ACADEMY Winger Tom Knowles signed for Yeovil Town in December 2020, signing on undisclosed terms from Cambridge United. Knowles began his career at Cambridge, and after graduating from his hometown club’s academy in 2017, has played a handful of games for the League Two side, scoring a late freekick against Morecambe in April 2019 and netting this season against Fulham U23’s. Already enjoying seven loan spells inside the National League pyramid, Knowles knows the non-league game well, including a 14-goal season across two loan spells at Cambridge City & St. Ives Town. Last season, Knowles received much praise during a successful spell on loan at Chelmsford City in the National League South, where he scored five times in 24 appearances, including the winner against eventual league champions Wealdstone.

SUPPORTERS’ Association

In the Community

BARNET FC Supporters’ association A message from John Hunt As I write, the Bees are placed in mid-table, safe from the drop but not threatening the play-offs. This makes for a more relaxed final part of the season where we can build for a fourth Vanarama National League title winning season next year. I have supported Barnet for more than 30 years now and was the original glory hunter. My first match at Underhill was our first league match against Crewe where we lost 7-4. Next time out we drew 5-5 with Brentford which is when I fell in love with the club and the team. Gary Bull was my first Barnet hero, but I also had a soft spot for Paul Showler whose goal scoring prowess from corners I was able to replicate on the admittedly smaller confines of the 7-a-side pitches at Middlesex Polytechnic! I remember walking to the tube station a couple of seasons ago convinced that we would reach the FA Trophy final and that I wouldn’t be able to make it if my wife was in labour. The last time Barnet got to Wembley Stadium was a month before I was born in 1972 and I am desperate to see us play there. I was the Barnet supporters’ team manager for over a decade and proud to watch the football we played and to win the Mitchell Cole Trophy twice with my charges. At the moment we are dormant and maybe it is time for a fresh face to take the supporters’ team forward! Through Barnet I have made many friends and have travelled all over Europe following England C and Paul Fairclough with one set, and England U21 with another group. I was chuffed to see Sam Beard called up for England C this week. I served on the committee of the old BFCSA back in the days of Eddie Thompson, Mark Ashfield, Keith Doe and Pete Williamson at the helm and was excited by the opportunity to be part of our reincarnation this season.

I get to see all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. The amount of time and effort, passion and enthusiasm Carla, Mark, Mem, Keith, Michael, Nick and Sam put into improving the supporter experience is illustrated by the amount of times my WhatsApp pings day and night! We are building good relationships with the club which will serve us well for the future and I am confident the BFCSA will go from strength to strength. Sadly, I have only been able to visit The Hive London once in the last two seasons due to the global pandemic and ill health. I hope to be back soon. Social media affords me the opportunity to keep on top of the developments at the club which is great. Hopefully we have turned the corner now and I can certainly sense a great deal more optimism on the forums. Up The Bees. John Hunt

MAIDENHEAD AWAY POSTCARD Given how nice the weather had been all week, I was looking forward to a sunny day out in Maidenhead. My parents came down from Leeds on Friday night, so we all left London on Saturday morning to head to Maidenhead. There were a few Bees fans on the train from Paddington so when we arrived in Maidenhead at midday, we all headed to a local pub. We had a couple of drinks in there before walking to the ground which was about five minutes away. We all arrived at York Road just after 14:00 which gave us time to get some food and catch up with other Barnet fans pre-game. Once we knew which end we were shooting into, we took our place behind the goal ready for kick-off. The game got off to a lively start as just minutes into the game Reece Grego-Cox’s shot hit the bar. We had another great chance about 25 minutes into the game but Ephron Mason-Clark was flagged offside. Maidenhead had chances going forward in the first half too but we dealt with any threat and finished the half well, going into the break at 0-0. During the interval, we moved down to the terrace at the other end with the sun in our eyes for the second-half. We had a good start and about 15 minutes into the half we took the lead. A brilliant ball in from Mason-Clark was met by Wes Fonguck who played through Adam Marriott to finish nicely. We carried on pushing forward in the half and doubled our advantage on 78 minutes when Mason-Clark set up Grego-Cox to score. As the game got towards the end, Maidenhead were pushing down the other end themselves and got a goal back on the 89th minute through Shawn McCoulsky. Somehow five minutes were added and I was starting to feel a little nervous. In the 94th minute there was a mad goalmouth scramble and Maidenhead should’ve scored, but Jake Askew did just enough to keep it out. Thankfully the referee blew just after that and we had the three points in the bag. The lads came over to appreciation from the fans and everyone was feeling good. My parents and I headed back towards the town and decided to have another drink in Maidenhead to watch some of the England game. We made the short walk to the train station and headed back to London, arriving shortly after 19:00. This gave us time to go to a few shops and get some tea before heading home. It was a lovely day in the sun at Maidenhead and, thanks to some good football, we got another win at York Road.

HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH yeovil town

HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH

YEOVIL TOWN The Bees hold the edge over today’s opponents Yeovil Town in home matches, but the Glovers have been victorious on more occasions overall. The two sides have met 59 times in total, with 27 matches being in what is now the Vanarama National League (including the 2019/20 play-off game) and 22 in the Southern League. Only six matches were in the Football League and the other four in various cups. The first meeting was in February 1967, following the Bees’ promotion to the Southern League Premier Division. It was a 1-1 draw at Underhill, with Don Whyte scoring the home side’s goal.

Nugent (with Barnet till the start of this season) and Dean Parrett (played two games last season). Others include Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro, Iffy Allen, Colin Barnes, Conor Clifford, Sam Hoskins (loaned to the Bees by Yeovil), Keanu MarshBrown, Izale McLeod, Bondz N’Gala, Alan Pardew, Ed Upson and Sam Walker. Loach played for the Bees on three occasions against Yeovil Town, Akpa Akpro twice and N’Gala once. Allen played twice for the Glovers in this fixture.

At home, the Bees have won 12, drawn 10 and lost five. Over these games, Barnet have scored 48 goals and the Glovers 37. Five of the home matches have been at The Hive London prior to today. In all games against Yeovil, Les Eason scored seven goals (the first in 1968 and the last in 1978), Steve Mahoney six and Ricky George four. None of the current squad have scored against the Glovers. The highest scoring games between the teams were two 4-4 draws at Underhill in February 1981 and October 1982, and a 5-3 defeat for the Bees in 1970 at Yeovil. Mahoney (1984) and Tony Lynch (1990) have both scored hat-tricks against the Glovers. The highest attendance for a game between the Bees and the Glovers is 5,973 for an FA Cup game at Huish Park in December 2003. The largest crowd at home is 2,425 in April 1990, while the largest at The Hive London is 2,379 in April 2016 - the first meeting at home in the Football League. The most recent match between the two teams was last December at Huish Park, with Yeovil coming out 1-0 winners in a tight game. Adi Yussuf bagged the Glovers’ goal in the 10th minute. The Barnet team was: Aston Oxborough, Jordan Thomas, Jamie Turley, Reiss Greenidge, Sam Beard, Mitch Brundle, Harry Taylor, Wes Fonguck (Josh Payne), Rob Hall, Ephron Mason-Clark, Serhat Tasdemir (Ben RichardsEverton). More than 30 players have played for the Bees and the Glovers. Some of the most recent are: Scott Loach (with Barnet for two seasons prior to the current one), Ben

Soon after, Ben Whitfield collected a through ball in the box,

but clipped his shot into the side netting from an acute angle. The Bees had one half chance. Luke Gambin sent in a deep cross from near the byline on the left, but Akinde was unable to head home at the far post. Then, after 71 minutes, the Glovers hit the bar again when Eaves headed down for Khan, who sent in a thunderous strike.

The Bees have only played Yeovil Town in the Football League on six occasions. Barnet’s one victory was on 10 December 2016, a 1-0 win at Huish Park, thanks to a late Alex Nicholls strike. Jack Taylor, now with Championship side Peterborough United, made his league debut for the Bees. It was also Rossie Eames’ first match in charge of the team after Martin Allen’s departure to Eastleigh. Early on, Swansea loanee Ryan Hedges drove forward through the Bees’ midfield and blasted a shot from just outside the box that Jamie Stephens tipped over the bar. Otis Khan brought a smart stop out of Stephens at the near post, but the Bees’ number one was not tested again in the first half. Ephron Mason-Clark, in only his second league start, was lively and caused the Glovers problems, as was Taylor, playing in an unaccustomed right back position. The Bees’ best chance came when John Akinde ran onto a ball over the top, but it was snuffed out by a well-timed sliding challenge from Yeovil ‘keeper Artur Krysiak. Darren Way’s men had two good chances to break the deadlock in the first 15 minutes of the second half. First, an effort was deflected and pushed wide by Stephens. Then, the Bees’ keeper punched a looping cross away but Tom Eaves headed back against the crossbar.

With five minutes to go and against the run of play, Barnet got the only goal. Akinde laid the ball off to Curtis Weston in midfield. Weston powered forward and played in substitute Nicholls on the right of the box with a nicely weighted pass. The striker’s low, strong shot from a tight angle found the far corner of the net. Yeovil had one last roll of the dice. A long goal-kick by Krysiak was allowed to bounce over the Bees’ backline, falling invitingly for Khan. One-on-one with the Barnet keeper, he took one touch, before sending a half-volley towards goal, but was thwarted by Stephens as he rushed out to narrow the angle. It was a winning start for Rossie Eames and for the talented 18-year-old Jack Taylor who brought to an end the Glovers’ 13-game unbeaten run. Teams: Yeovil: Artur Krysiak, Liam Shephard, Alex Lacey, Nathan Smith, Ryan Dickson, Ben Whitfield (Francois Zoko), Alex Lawless, Kevin Dawson, Ryan Hedges, Tom Eaves, Otis Khan. Bees: Jamie Stephens, Jack Taylor, Michael Nelson, Bira Dembele, Elliot Johnson, Mauro Vilhete, Curtis Weston, Tom Champion (Alex Nicholls), Luke Gambin (Sam Muggleton); Ephron Mason-Clark (Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro), John Akinde. Attendance: 3,254.

In the 62nd minute, the ball fell for Khan on the left of the Barnet area, but a deflection saw his effort go narrowly wide. CLASSIC ENCOUNTER WITH the GLOVERS

ON THIS day ONE YEAR AGO (2021) Barnet lost 2-0 at home to Solihull Moors on Good Friday, in a Vanarama National League game. Spectators were still not admitted due to Covid-19.

THREE YEARS AGO (2019) The Bees triumphed 3-0 away at Eastleigh in a National League fixture. Shaq Coulthirst put Barnet 1-0 ahead in the first-half, whilst Ephron Mason-Clark and Coulthirst again scored in the second. Of the Bees’ current players, Wes Fonguck and Harry Taylor both started the game, as well as Mason-Clark. The attendance was 1,579. At the end of the season, Eastleigh made the play-offs but went out at the semi-final stage, while Barnet finished 12th.

FOUR YEARS AGO (2018) Stevenage beat the Bees 4-1 at the Lamex Stadium. It was Martin Allen’s third game back in charge of the team as he tried valiantly to keep the Bees in the fourth tier, ultimately unsuccessfully. Coulthirst got the Bees’ goal. The crowd was 3,350 including an impressive 942 Barnet fans.

SIX YEARS AGO (2016) Barnet lost 4-2 away to Morecambe in a fourth-tier game. The Shrimps went ahead in the first minute and the Bees never got back on terms. Michael Gash came off the bench at half-time to score both the Barnet goals. The attendance was 1,175. The Bees finished the season in 15th and Morecambe in 21st.

11 YEARS AGO (2011) The Bees had a tremendous 4-1 away win at Burton Albion in the fourth tier. Albion went in 1-0 ahead at half-time, but Steve Kabba had the game of his life, grabbing all four Barnet goals in 24 second-half minutes. The crowd was 2,774. Five weeks later, the Bees won their final game of the season to stay up by a single point, with Lincoln City and Stockport County relegated.

17 YEARS AGO (2005) Northwich Victoria beat Barnet 2-0 on their own patch in a National League encounter. The attendance was 1,552, with

ON THIS Day

two thirds following the Bees. It was one of only eight defeats for Barnet that season, which ended with them as champions. Although in the second tier of the Football League in the 1890s, the Vics are now in football’s nineth tier.

26 YEARS AGO (1996) The Bees beat Cardiff City 1-0 at Underhill in a fourth-tier game. Sean Devine scored the Bees’ goal, and the crowd was 2,109. Barnet finished the season 9th and Cardiff in 22nd, their lowest ever position. The Bluebirds are now in the Championship.

&

CURRENTLY Following the Bees’ victory over Maidenhead United last Saturday, Barnet have now done the double over three teams this season. They have won both league games against Aldershot Town and Dover Athletic, as well as both against Maidenhead. They could also do the double over a fourth team (Weymouth) in a few weeks’ time. Last season, Barnet beat one side twice and in 2019/20 they managed it against three sides. Adam Marriott has now scored six goals in his last 10 games, after his goal against Maidenhead. He is the first Bees player to do that since Simeon Akinola in 2019/20. Marriott has scored 10 goals this season, one more than last season’s top scorer, Michael Petrasso. Reece Grego-Cox has scored three in his most recent three league games. Barnet go into today’s game on the back of three wins in their last four games, while Yeovil Town have won their three most recent. Across the season as a whole, the Bees have picked up 22 points from 17 games at home. The Glovers have gathered 25 points from the same number of games away and have a slightly better record away than at home. Elsewhere in the Vanarama National League, Stockport County have now gone 17 league games unbeaten, having won 16 league games in that period. Solihull Moors are unbeaten in 12 league games. WHAT’S THE Buzz

WHAT’S THE Buzz Darren Sarll has accepted a contract offer made to him by Woking, thus resigning his position at Yeovil Town. Sarll was appointed manager of the Glovers in the summer of 2019 on a three-year contract, so was set to leave at the end of the current campaign anyway. After his resignation and acceptance of the Woking managerial position, he joins the Cards on a deal running up until the end of the 2023/24 season. The Surrey side had been managerless since the beginning of the month, when they sacked Alan Dowson. He departs Yeovil as they lie in 12th place, 11 points from the play-offs. Woking are in 15th place, two points above Barnet having played two more matches, and five points behind Yeovil, having played a game more. Last week saw National League side Stockport County opt to fly to their match at Eastleigh, which was the first time that the club had travelled to a match by air, a club spokesman confirmed. The Hatters also revealed that it was significantly cheaper for the club to fly its 27 players and matchday staff from Manchester Airport to Southampton Airport than by train. The previous week saw the side take on King’s Lynn Town away on the Tuesday night, which was a long journey. It would have been a four-hour coach journey, opposed to a 45-minute flight, thus allowing for more recovery and preparation time for the

National League promotion chasers Wrexham have snapped up former Northern Ireland international Lee Camp on a short-term deal. Camp, now 37 years of age, played nine times for Northern Ireland. His club career has seen him feature for the likes of Derby County, Burton Albion, QPR, Norwich City, where he played in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest, West Bromwich Albion, AFC Bournemouth, Rotherham United, Cardiff City, Sunderland, Birmingham City, Coventry City and Swindon Town. He also has five England Under 21 caps. He joins the Welsh side on a deal running up until the end of the season, following an injury to first choice goalkeeper Rob Lainton, who is now out for the rest of the season.

WHAT’S THE Buzz

WHAT’S THE Buzz

Colchester United have revealed that they have so far raised almost £70,000 for their Ukraine humanitarian effort. The League Two side had designated their match against league leaders Forest Green Rovers two weeks ago as a fundraising event, with all tickets costing £10, going towards their aid efforts. The match, which was won 1-0 by Rovers thanks to a 9th minute goal by former Bee Matty Stevens, had an attendance of 6,140 at the JobServe Community Stadium. More cash was also raised through the club’s Just Giving page and the auctioning off of the special edition shirts worn in the match – one that featured Ukraine’s colours. The club will be accepting donations up until the end of the season, and all money raised will be donated to the Red Cross’ efforts in Ukraine.

Mark Robinson has parted company with AFC Wimbledon after 14 months in charge. Robinson took charge of the South London club back in February 2021, and managed just 18 wins out of his 70 games in charge of the club, of which only six came this season. The side have not won since the beginning of December. Robinson previously held various other coaching positions with the club since 2004. Former player Darius Charles will be in temporary charge of the club, away to Sheffield Wednesday this weekend. Since their promotion to the Football League in 2012, Robinson was their fifth permanent manager.

Despite their relegation from the Premier League in 2020, during the same financial year, AFC Bournemouth have announced a pre-tax profit of £17 million for the year ending June 2021. This comes after the side made a £60 million loss pre-tax the previous year. The recent profit despite the relegation was boosted by the sale of several key players, including Nathan Ake, Aaron Ramsdale and Callum Wilson, who were sold in that year for a combined fee of £79.5 million, including £41 million for Ake alone to Manchester City. The side are currently second place in the Championship, eight points off top placed Fulham with a game in hand. They lost in the play-offs to Brentford last season.

In Memoriam Wendy Davies

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wendy Davies. Wendy worked with us for many years and she will be deeply missed. A hugely popular person, kind and honest, Wendy had a passion for her work like no other.

Wendy Jane Davies was born on the 28th July 1963 in Walsall. She spent much of her adolescence in Southern Africa and moved to London at a young age pursuing a career in sales. She worked for Cable and Wireless where she met her husband Kevin. Together, they had their India was born in 1992. Wendy was a kind, funny and loving mother to James and India who both had a happy childhood with Wendy at the helm. Wendy took a huge interest in sport and one of her biggest motivations was working with Barnet FC and wanted nothing more that the team to succeed every year. In 2004 she entered medical recruitment, an industry she stayed in up until the very end and it changed her life for the better in many ways. She always spoke passionately about TIC Health and really believed in the business. She worked tirelessly for many years building strong working relationships and showing a real care for the colleagues she worked with. Wendy will be sorely missed and is survived by two children and two grandchildren as well as many friends who loved her dearly.

MATCH Report

MATCH Report THE BEES COMPLETED THE LEAGUE DOUBLE OVER MAIDENHEAD UNITED – BEATING THE MAGPIES 2-1 AT YORK ROAD. Dean Brennan’s side went close to scoring early on as Jake Askew’s deep free-kick found Reece Grego-Cox who hit the crossbar with a powerful effort from outside the area. After an even next 10 minutes, Maidenhead then hit the woodwork themselves as Nathan Blissett rattled the bar from a few yards out before it was eventually cleared behind for a corner. Askew was called into action in the 21st minute when Shaun McCoulsky found space to fire towards the bottom corner to force the goalie to tip it past the post. Dean Brennan’s side began the second-half with intent as Reece Grego-Cox’s firm strike found the gloves of Harry Palmer in the 55th minute. The hosts responded with a chance of their own five minutes later when Ryan Upward played a pass to Josh Smile who made Askew get low to deny the Magpies the lead. Askew’s save proved to be important as the Bees found the net just a minute later when Ephron Mason-Clark played the ball through to Adam Marriott who slotted it past Palmer. The Bees doubled their lead in the 79th minute when MasonClark and Jamie Turley combined nicely to provide a cross for Grego-Cox who turned it in from a few yards out. The visitors pulled one back with a minute left of normal time as McCoulsky tapped the ball past Askew but it couldn’t prevent the Bees from leaving York Road victorious.
