How much will my course cost? Are you receiving a name-based benefit?
Are you unemployed and want to enter employment?
(Eligibility criteria applies)
Do you need skills training to do so?
If yes, then you do not need to pay any tuition or exam fees. Just produce documentary evidence dated no older than three months when you come to enrol. If you do not fall under this criteria, you will be required to cover the cost for your course. Each course is individually priced so check the details in this prospectus. Financial support is available - read opposite for more details. The fees listed are applicable to British or EU nationals who have been resident in the EEA over the last three years. There are exceptions to this and therefore Barnfield College may have to undertake a fee assessment to determine whether you pay the fee published or an international fee. Please note that some courses have additional fees for books, equipment, specialist clothing and materials. The course fee information is subject to change and the latest information on fees can be found on the Barnfield College website.

Money Matters Am I eligible?
If you are aged 19 and over and want to undertake a course at Level 3 or above, you can apply for a 19+ Advanced Learner Loan to help with the cost of your course.
How do they work?
To qualify you’ll need to be: • Aged 19 or over at the start of your course • A resident in the UK for three years prior to the start of your course • Enrolling on a course at Level 3 or above, such as: A-Levels, Diplomas and Certificates or Access to Higher Education.
You don’t pay anything up-front for your course fees. Repayments do not start until you’ve completed your course and you are earning more than £21,000 a year. If your loan is for an Access to HE programme and you go on to complete an eligible Higher Education course, you won’t have to repay your Advanced Learner Loan at all.
The loans are not based on your income and there are no credit checks. As long as you meet the criteria you will be able to apply for a loan, whether you’re employed or unemployed. The loan will then be paid directly to the College on your behalf.
How do I apply?
When will I have to pay it back?
If the course you want to study qualifies for this loan, we’ll provide you with a ‘Learning and funding information’ letter, which you will need to complete your application.
