What is needed is the political determination to work for a sustainable society. Companies need to take responsibility by prioritising a long-term, sustainable perspective rather than short-term profits. Involvement from a range of NGOs is also necessary for spreading the knowledge, and at last the consumer have to take responsibility and demand a change of course from decision-makers around the world. We don’t want to contribute to increased consumption; instead, we try to make our products as durable and multifunctional as possible. The people who sew our products should also have good lives, with adequate wages and a working environment that is not hazardous. We also want to be a good, reliable supplier that always sends orders at the right time, attractively and correctly packaged – and sometimes with a cuddly mouse in the packet. We wish

that the phone was glued to our ear and that we were always available when you need us. And it’s really quite complicated. Materials

should be recycled or recyclable, organic and toxin free, and preferably bluesign certified. They should also be hardwearing and have the right functionality. They should breathe when necessary and be waterproof when needed. We want customers to choose Klättermusen when they buy a new product but we do not want to encourage unnecessary purchase. We visit the sewing factories several times each year. The tailors and seamstresses are skilled, they know their own worth and they receive sensible wages. It is clean and tidy and they all look healthy and happy. But to be sure that our suppliers’ social responsibility goes all the way we will join the Fair Wear Foundation in the near future. Sometimes products get delayed. There can be a range of reasons for this, or for us not meeting our targets as a good supplier, but we work hard to fulfil our customers’ wishes every day. And if we don’t answer the phone, it’s probably because the glue has temporarily come unstuck. It’s true. We are absolutely committed to what we do: To making the best, most functional products

The naked truth

This is an extremely advanced pack, but it is very easy to adjust. The floating V-Free Flex™ shoulder harness may feel a little tight and stiff at first, but the system really starts to show its strengths after only a few kilometres on the trail. In the shop, a conventional padded carrying system feels deceptively comfortable, but pain can start building up when carrying a heavy load, due to pressure on the muscles. This is where Mjölner demonstrates its superiority.

Mjölner is Thor’s magic battle hammer that was crafted by dwarves, never misses its target and always returns to its owner. When it’s not in use, Mjölner conveniently shrinks to a size that means it can be worn as a necklace.

To the maximum benefit from the butterfly bridge® shoulder pads, you must adjust their length so that the bridge is on top of your shoulders. Always tighten the hip belt’s top buckles more than the lower ones. One big compartment means that packing is easy, but that it may take more time to find a special item. one way of reducing our environmental

The naked truth

impact is to use recycled material in new products.

Mipan Regen® recycled polyamide fibre, which is made from waste materials like used fishing nets and old carpet flooring, is the raw material for most of our backpacks and bags. These products use 28% less oil than a product made solely from new materials, as well as considerably reducing carbon emissions. Name story

Gnå is a goddess with inexhaustible energy. She delivers all messages quickly and safely.

Our partner – Hyosung – is GRS certified.

GRS stands for Global Recycling Standard and guarantees that the entire chain, from raw material

to finished fabric, only includes recycled polyamide. The fabric is just as durable as new fabric and has a beautiful structure. The recycling method removes all impurities which mean that it has the same vivid colours as virgin material. It is coated with TPU, thermo polyurethane, to make it tear, scratch and weatherproof.

And we promise that it does not smell of rotting seaweed!

Name story

Mimer was a giant who guarded the spring of wisdom at the root of the world tree, Yggdrasil. Anyone who drank from Mimer’s well would know everything about what had happened and what would happen. Mimer knew most things, because he drank from the spring every day.

Although the fabric has the highest tear strength possible for a lightweight material, it is still very low compared to our other backpacks. You should be prepared to use the enclosed repair kits now and again. If you want to haul your backpack around a lot, choose another Klättermusen pack. It is not waterproof, so please use a drybag for your dry socks and sleeping bag when it is wet out.

Buy a colour that you love, because Brede will outlast all the current fashions. Due to their construction, the pockets are not totally waterproof. Use the specially constructed GPS/phone pocket for items that need to be kept totally dry. Very hardwearing, but not lightweight. This is a jacket for active people who aren’t scared of a snowstorm.

The naked truth

Allgrön is a slim jacket with great fit. If you are on the large side, you should perhaps try a different jacket, or one size larger than normal. The jacket does not have a rigid wind funnel on the hood, so is not suitable for an expedition to somewhere really cold. Recycled polyester is not as durable as polyamide, but you do get a product with high ECO-index points.

Allgrön is an island that is owned by the giant, Fjölvar. It is very beautiful and it is said that the god Oden like to visit and seduce girls who are dazzled by his appearance.

The process is strictly controlled to eliminate harmful by-products, and results in a dramatic reduction of energy consumption and carbon emissions. Recycling polyester can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 77% and energy consumption by up to 84%. Furthermore, the polyester produced in the recycling process has the same high quality as polyester from a virgin source (i.e. from crude oil). This is why Klättermusen are pleased to have Teijin as one of our material suppliers. With the help of ECO-circle™, we can give new life to old fibres. Over and over again. Klättermusen uses ECO-circle™ in the Allgrön jacket and Eitre pants.

The naked truth

The front pocket allows you to make full use of the area between the hip belt and shoulder harness when carrying a backpack. The lightweight, two-and-a-half layer material is not as strong as the material in the heavier Brede and Froste, thus life expectancy is shorter for the Ask jacket.

Have you ever done a strenuous walk in the mountains in a waterproof shell garment? If so, then you probably sweating a great deal and then, when you stopped, suffered from damp and chilly clothes. No waterproof shell garment will manage to transport all the moisture away from your body during strenuous activity.

MFR 2 – A garment that has good wind resistance for intense activities, but in cold winds you will need reinforcement with a higher MFR factor.

This is why we make garments with MFR – Mass Flow Resistance. It may sound complicated, but it’s actually pretty simple to understand. Mass flow is the physicists’ way of describing wind. In other words, Mass Flow Resistance is a measure of how much wind a garment lets through when you’re out in the elements. The higher the value, the better the windproofing.

For example: Gere pants in recycled polyamide.

Fluorocarbons (FC) may be harmful to the environment; scientific research has shown that they disturb the reproductive systems of mammals and build up in the blood. Most of them are also highly persistent, i.e. do not break down in nature.

Myser was a sea king (also known as Mysing), who brought his host to Frode’s farm. There, he freed the giantesses Fenja and Menja, who worked at the magic mill, Grotte, which produced whatever was desired. First, they ground wealth and prosperity for the country. But Frode was greedy and wouldn’t let them rest, so they started to grind out trouble and war instead. That was why Myser arrived.
