IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION,

students learn about social and emotional skills. Some of these critical skills include sharing, cooperating and resolving conflicts. These skills will help students gear up for kindergarten. The East Baton Rouge Parish School System has partnered with several companies to help students, including Louisiana Public Broadcasting, Knock Knock Children’s Museum, the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, Capital Area United Way, Family Services of Greater Baton Rouge and Volunteers of America-Partnerships in Childcare. The Louisiana Department of Education developed the program to implement key strategies to ensure children succeed in kindergarten. EBRPSS teachers, professors, and administrators network with numerous community members. These include 43 EBRP public elementary schools, two Pre-K and kindergarten centers, city of Baker schools, four nonpublic early childhood development/private schools, four charter schools, EBR Early Head Start and Head Start programs, YWCA Early Head Start, over 80 childcare centers and over 14 other supporting community partner organizations.
