When you grow up with a love of playing tennis, graduate college and become a varsity tennis coach of boys and girls, win numerous state championships, host tennis summer camps, and tutor private tennis lessons…what’s next? In the case of Dane Fosguard, you start a tennis pro shop dedicated to all things tennis: performance racquets, equipment, balls, grips, brand name, hard to find apparel for men and women, and overall cool tennis swag! Dane aptly named the store TC Tennis Racquet and it’s located just down the road from the library on Woodmere Avenue. For the hard-core tennis lovers, Dane provides stringing services and invites patrons to try out demo racquets. “I have just about everything that would cover any client, from the amateur player to the true professional serious player,” says Dane. The store is a natural progression from an e-commerce store selling equipment he launched a couple of years ago. “We’ve got the latest and greatest and I’m really excited for this opportunity.” Fun Fact: they carry pickleball racquets too! 741 Woodmere Ave. Traverse City. tctennisracquet.com.

Passing the Torch A milestone is happening at ReynoldsJonkhoff Funeral Home. Dan and Peg Jonkhoff—Jonkhoff family fifth generation owners since 1992—are passing the torch to the sixth generation, their daughters Christy Jonkhoff-Hater, a graduate of Michigan State University and Worsham College of Mortuary Science and Lindsey JonkhoffRogers, a graduate of Bowling Green State University and the Wayne State University Mortuary Science Program. Both have years of experience serving our community working as funeral directors. Along the way, they have married and are blessed with children, adored by proud grandparents Dan and Peg. An extensive plan has been in place for many years with integral moving parts. The funeral home has grown over the past three decades by providing excellence in funeral service. Their caring work family served a record number of families in 2021, so the timing is right. They are confidently ready to lead, forging ahead a new chapter for the family’s legacy. 305 Sixth St. Traverse City reynolds-jonkhoff.com
