THE 2370 ULTRA HD LARGE SQUARE BALER.

DESIGNED TO EXCEED ULTRA-HIGH EXPECTATIONS. The new Hesston by Massey Ferguson® 2370 Ultra HD large square baler delivers the heaviest, densest, most consistent square bales ever produced. As the world’s first Class 8 baler, it puts more crop in each bale with 20% greater bale density. That means less to gather, stack, load and store, which results in less labor, time and fuel. For today’s biomass and commercial hay operations, it’s the faster way to end up with higher quality, heavier bales — and heftier returns. LE A RN MORE AT HE S STON.COM.

SUSTAINABILITY

With an emphasis on reducing our overall environmental impact while benefiting and improving the local community, Cobb Galleria Centre, Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, and Galleria Specialty Shops are committed to reviewing, changing and implementing policies and sustainability initiatives, which work to strengthen our environmental principles. Our goal is to improve, maintain and apply practices that will reduce impact on the environment, benefit the local community and make economic sense. While we realize that this effort is never complete and always evolving, below is a list of some of the things we are doing to promote environmental sustainability: Recycling • Shipping pallets are reused or recycled • Batteries are recycled • Fluorescent bulbs are recycled • Grease is recycled into biodiesel fuel • Toner cartridges are recycled • Use of Masonite for carpet protection, eliminating the use of disposable carpet shield Energy/Water • ALTO fluorescent bulbs (low mercury) where possible • Integrated “Building Management System” that has reduced electricity and gas costs/ consumption exponentially • Motion-censored lights (since 1994) • LED lighting throughout facility • Restricted use of HVAC during move-in/move-out days in the exhibit halls to eliminate the energy waste of operating HVAC systems when the loading dock doors are open • Low-flow toilets • Planting of perennials instead of annuals in flower beds – perennials grow deeper roots and require less watering • Chemical treatment and monitoring to maintain water quality for HVAC • Biodiesel partnership with Southern Green Industries to recycle all of the grease from our kitchen • Replacement of 12 rooftop HVAC units with anticipated 15% reduction in energy usage Food and Beverage • On-site garden with three raised beds and many perennials • Local and regional food sourcing when possible • Clients are discouraged from using disposables on their buffets and breaks (china and linen are highly encouraged) • Water urns provided on request instead of bottled water at meetings • Left-over food donated to Atlanta’s Table • Minimal use of pre-packaged condiments • Composting Office • Major reduction in paper through “going electronic” with most operational documents (Proposals, Contracts, Banquet Event Orders, Invoices, Event Resumes, Service Order Forms, etc.) • Major reduction in paper through minimal production of collateral materials and only electronic production of newsletters • Use of FSC Certified commercial printers

CONFERENCE DETAILS

WELCOME Welcome to the 11th annual International Biomass Conference & Expo at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA. This dynamic event unites industry professionals from all sectors of the world’s interconnected biomass utilization industries—biobased power, thermal energy, fuels and chemicals. Organized by BBI International and produced by Biomass Magazine, this event brings current and future producers of bioenergy and biobased products together with waste generators, energy crop growers, municipal leaders, utility executives, technology providers, equipment manufacturers, project developers, investors and policy makers. It’s a true onestop shop — the world’s premier educational and networking junction for all biomass industries. The operation and financial success of any biomassto-energy facility requires its operators to utilize highquality, consistent biomass feedstocks. The Biomass Preparation, Handling & Storage Workshop agenda will allow producers to take an in-depth look at the latest innovations and strategies in biomass handling and compare it to their own. Whether producers are sourcing wood chips from a handful of trusted suppliers for a campus boiler or are a biorefinery working to gather, store and convert hundreds of thousands of tons of agricultural residues, this agenda will offer practical value. The Biomass Carbonization & Torrefaction Summit is a one-day, intensive conversation about the promise of upgrading biomass streams via torrefaction or the production of biochar and the markets that await the developers and producers who can scale-up and efficiently manufacture commercial volumes of these products. Attendees can expect conversations about downstream energy markets, but the program’s inclusion of biochar will introduce new market segments to a biomass audience more familiar with traditional power or heat markets. Additionally, the Biomass Carbonization & Torrefaction Summit will examine how the production of torrefied biomass and biochar will fit into the existing biomass supply chain and how it might propel the broader biomass sector even further forward.
