As we continue to roll into spring, we are noticing much better weather days here on the Cape! Many members and guests have already experienced and have been enjoying beach fires with great sunsets, great golf conditions, and even some brave outdoor swimmers at Bay Pines heated pool. We anticipate a wonderful 2024 season and year for Ocean Edge, for our members, and for all our families! We are very excited and we are looking forward to having all of you back very soon to enjoy all that Ocean Edge is!!
The golf course has been open now for just over a month and we have already been hearing great things about course conditions and about how wonderful the wetlands project has progressed. If you have not had the pleasure yet to see and experience for yourself, how open the course now feels, we are truly welcoming you all.
A huge thank you to Sean Lucey and his team for a great job so far with the wetlands project and for getting the course back in shape as we enter into season If you see him or his team out on the golf course, please pass along a big welcome and thank you as he has been a great addition to our Ocean Edge team!
It was great to see such a good showing of members for our Welcome Back Mixer and our 1st annual Wine Walk Thank you to those who participated, and we promise you that we will expand on all our offerings moving forward for all upcoming events and into next year Do not miss out, and please remember to preregister, for our upcoming Kentucky Derby at Linx Tavern – Members Lounge scheduled for this Saturday the 4th, the Detore Quota begins on Friday the 10th, Friday Nights at the Linx – Member Socials begin on Friday the 17th, Tennis Opening Day Party as well as our Memorial Weekend Clam Bake are both on Saturday the 25th and our New Member Social is scheduled for Thursday, May 30th The team and I are looking forward to seeing many of you returning for the summer here at Ocean Edge
The month of May brings many planned openings of venues as well as these upcoming member events Heidi has already advertised her fitness schedules to include additional classes due to the demand and success of our current offerings. Our new Spin Bikes should be coming this month, and they will be well received by the members and staff alike. We plan to have Arbor Pool/Shark Bah and Fletcher Outdoor pools open later this month as well as the repair work that is scheduled for Fletcher Indoor Pool Heaters and Spa. Please stop by the Membership Service Desk at the Linx the week before Memorial Day to pick up your 2024 parking stickers and annual dues incentive guest vouchers. I want to take this opportunity to thank the entire Ocean Edge team for their continued hard work in planning and executing all items for this 2024 year. Again, we anticipate a wonderful and memorable 2024 season and year for all.

The Fastest Two-Minutes in Sports, Saturday, May 4th, The Kentucky Derby party tomorrow night at the Linx! If you have not registered yet, please do, it is a can’t miss event!
May marks the start of the “regular” season with the kick-off of many weekly socials and events Starting with the Friday Dettore Quota Golf Tournament on May 10th. This is a weekly Men’s golf event with an 8:30 am shotgun start. The following week starts Friday Nights at the Linx, kicking-off the social season on Friday, May 17th. Couple these weekly events with an array of socials including Mother’s Day on May 12th, OEWGA welcome back coffee on May 14th to start the OEWGA season, our traditional Memorial Day Clambake on May 25th, and the weekly Ice Cream Socials at the Member Sports Club on May 26th May is an exciting month as we quickly gear up for season and welcome back many of our members who flew south for the winter!

If the saying “April showers bring May flowers” is true, then we should be in luck for a colorful month. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the golf course with family and friends as the temps warm up and Cape begins to blossom.
Our season is underway with our OEMGA and OEWGA associations starting May 10th and May 14th respectively. Look for other events like the Nahass Match Play, NEW 4-Ball Match play events on the men ’ s calendar and the ladies bringa-friend and opening day Please reach out to learn more about how to join or look for information on the members website.
Sean and the agronomy team have done a fantastic job getting the golf course ready for the summer season. If you have not had a chance to see the amazing changes around the golf course, you are in for a treat when you tee it up for the 1st time this year.

So many people give up on their fitness goals early due to misplaced notions of what fitness really means. Fitness is not about how many burpees you do, it's about having a consistent, active, healthier lifestyle. May can be a month that gets family, friends, and everyone moving. Power walk, toss a ball around the yard, shoot some basketball, walk the beach or take a fitness class No matter what you choose, physical movement is the key to leading a happy and healthy life
Fitness Class of the month:
Our fitness class focus for May is Yoga with Sarah Barkhuff at our MSC studio. Sarah returns to Ocean Edge this season with new classes and upcoming workshops Sarah is an accomplished yoga and meditation instructor and has over 20 years of experience Sarah teaches yoga in the studio on Saturdays at 10am and Sundays at 9:45 and will be our beach yoga instructor. We are so excited to have her back and are grateful she chose to join us permanently!
Our May/June fitness class schedule is the largest we ' ve offered since the fitness program started at Ocean Edge in 2002 Please remember that all classes except beach yoga and aqua fitness require a sign up on the member website. We look forward to seeing you and Happy Mother's Day!
