Hello to all Ocean Edge Club Members,

It’s hard to believe October is here already! The Fall season is a wonderful time to be outside enjoying the cool crisp mornings, clear blue skies, and the beautiful colors in the leaves. Many of you have told me that the shoulder months here on the Cape are simply fantastic and I certainly agree. I want to thank all of you for submitting your surveys as this is really a great tool for us to gauge how we are doing and certainly what we can improve upon. We will keep the survey open for a little while longer to get additional submittals from those that may have missed earlier communications. We are compiling the data and will be meeting with all team members to discuss our season this year and what we can improve upon for next.

It has been a pleasure in my first year serving as Club Manager here at Ocean Edge! I have met several of you already, but still have a ways to go in meeting all of you We have a great Club with a wonderful member base and an outstanding team I want to personally thank you for your support of the Club as we are continually striving to improve and create a more enjoyable member experience Additionally, I want to thank the team for a great year so far!

Our golf course is in fantastic condition and provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy spending time outside whether playing or practicing Tennis with Jim is only for a little while longer so get in those end of season practice sessions and lessons There will still be many events to finish off the season and year so please be sure to sign up for open fitness classes with Heidi, our final Friday Night at the Linx, our Fall wine dinner, Thanksgiving dinner, Brunch & Bubbles with Santa, the Members Holiday Party, and more that will be added to the Calendar.

Please do not hesitate to let me or any of our team know how we can improve your membership experience. Feel free to contact me as I continue to address your concerns and wants to improve upon the Club here at Ocean Edge. I can be reached best via email at Stephan.Harrington@oceanedge.com or by phone at 571-278-2860. Thank you for all the feedback and I will continue with my efforts in improving!

See you around the Club!

Ocean Edge Club Members,

Let me start off with thanking the many Members who have referred their friends to our Club. There is no greater testament to Club performance and stability than to have member referrals and this year has been one of our best ever in that regard.

Last month we had two more new member joins that came from a referral of a current Member. Year to date we now have had 24-new member joins as a direct result of referrals. Thank you!

Please join me in welcoming our newest Members to the Ocean Edge Club:

Robert & Maureen Potvin, Chatham residents and friends of Brian & Jan Koss

Sherrill & Robert Papalia, East Dennis residents

Lance & Cynthia Schuttauf, new Ocean Edge homeowners in Eaton George & Rebecca Gross, summer Brewster residents and friends of Joe & Ashley Palumbo

It is always great to welcome our newest members to the Club and to thank all of you for being a part of Ocean Edge. We’ve had a wonderful season in welcoming our newest members and a special thank you for all of our members who continue to introduce their friends to the Club!

Dear Members,

As the mums appear in the garden centers and the cooler days are followed by cooler nights, many of us prepare for change. For some it is leaving Cape Cod and journeying to a warmer climate. For others, it's checking out the revised fall schedule of activities and dining at our year round club.

Many thanks to Ocean Edge and Troon Management for hosting an informative annual member meeting. In addition to the updates from every manager, the question and answer session gave members the opportunity to ask specific questions, compliment positive change and offer suggestions for improvements.

On behalf of the Advisory Board, wishing everyone well in the coming months of jack o ' lanterns, turkeys and holiday festivities.

The fall weather brings a great time for golf as well as a great time for on course projects. Aeration is always a priority this time of year. Our goal with any aeration is to relieve compaction, remove thatch, improves root growth, and oxygenate the soil. These outcomes help to improve playability on all surfaces while also improve improved turf health

Getting a jump start on off season projects is a plus After the increase in rounds played over the last several years, cart traffic wear has showed up in places. Entrance and exit points to fairways are usually the main areas. We are addressing these areas by striping existing soil and turf, adding topsoil, sod, and in many areas, we will be adding our split rail fences to deter cart traffic in these areas moving forward.

Pictured right are high traffic areas that were renovated on the 5th hole and 7th hole.

October Pumpkins, ghosts and falling leaves. October is still a great time to get in a round before the weather turns cold. We encourage you to come out and play, bring the family or some friends and enjoy the golf course. We look forward to seeing you out and about as our season slowly starts to quiet down.

Dear Ocean Edge Members,

We would like to thank you for a wonderful summer! It was so nice to see everyone in the fitness classes and enjoying the amenities here at the MSC. If you are leaving the Cape, we wish you safe travels and look forward to seeing you in 2024. Here are a few tips to keep your mind and body in great shape no matter where your destination may be!

There are many pros of autumn, however, transition can also be a challenge. It means fewer daylight hours if you are up in the northern regions and the hustle and bustle of going back to your other club life if you migrate south or west. A psychologist friend of mine said that it doesn’t matter what the transition is, it can cause anxiety. It can take you out of your daily exercise routine, lead to bad eating and sleeping habits, not to mention dehydration Try the suggestions below and remember to BREATHE

1. COOK NUTRITIOUS FALL MEALS

Find simple, healthy fall recipes using immune-boosting whole foods. Take advantage of in season producelike apples, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, mushrooms, onions, sweet potatoes, winter squash to name a few.

2 KEEP IT FUN

Look for local fall-related activities to enjoy with family and friends Rake the leaves outside. Do some gardening. Try a Tai-Chi class, art class, or something you just haven’t had time to do with the busy summer activities. Autumn is a great time to refocus your 2023 fitness goals and make changes to end the year on a positive note.

3 BE GOOD TO YOURSELF

Take time to embrace the change of seasons wherever you are Holidays are on the horizon and right now you can focus on YOU. Get outside, layer up, hydrate and just ENJOY!
