Hello to all Ocean Edge Club Members,

It is my pleasure to be addressing you all as the new Club Manager here at Ocean Edge I have been on property now for 2 months and have had the absolute honor to have met many of you

Thank you for your kind and warm welcome and I look forward to meeting and speaking with many of you throughout the year I am aware that I have my work cut out for me and I look forward to elevating all that Ocean Edge has to offer its members

It seems that Memorial Day weekend and into June is when many of you are returning to the Cape We welcome you all back and we welcome all our new members to our family here at Ocean Edge The Memorial Day kickoff weekend and Clambake event were a big success, and it was a pleasure to see so many happy members and families get to enjoy the beautiful weather we had I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to discuss goals and objectives during the “Coffee with Stephan” event – thank you to all that attended and for your passion and knowledge of the property It is great to see and speak with so many of you who cherish Ocean Edge

If you are still away and/or did not experience all our new additions this year, here is a sample of things to enjoy when you return We refinished the Fletcher outdoor pool, and it looks fantastic The spa is working great both in the indoor and outdoor pools We refinished the flooring around the Fletcher indoor pool You will notice some new additions to the driving range this year with some new range ball apple crates, new seating Adirondack chairs, and more This winter we were able to remove many trees around the course to have better airflow and to increase playability on the course

There are many new faces on the property now and still arriving through the better part of June

To start we do want you all to say hello to Samantha Cannistraro as our new Member Relations and Communications Manager Samantha has committed straight from the start and is doing a fantastic job in her role! Additionally, we welcome all our summer help from J1 students to H2B workers joining us from countries all around the world From the start, many of these employees have been doing a great job assisting in getting all areas open and ready for summer and member enjoyment When you have a moment, please say hello to each of them as they are truly the lifeblood of summer day-to-day operations here at Ocean Edge They are all extremely friendly and they will be introducing themselves to you with smiling faces

June Membership News, Dear Ocean Edge Club Members,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Weekend! It was the best weather weekend we have had in a long time, especially for Memorial Day weekend. It was nice to enjoy the Clambake again this year and it was a beautiful night for the beach fire with s ’ mores following dinner. Thank you to all who attended this annual kick-off event!

It is also my pleasure to introduce you to our new Member Relations and Communications Manager Samantha Cannistraro. Samantha has a graphic designs and communications background, which will be a great asset to the Club as she updates our postings and website communications Please stop by and introduce yourself if you have not already done so Welcome, Samantha!

As we head into summer, there are a couple of quick updates for you

1 Parking Stickers are available at the Membership Services Desk Please be reminded that the parking stickers are available to the primary members only Vertical family are not provided Member Car stickers for Mansion side parking

2 Your Membership Card Please have a current membership card If you lost or misplaced your membership card, please stop in at the Linx Member Services Desk and we will print a new one for you.

3. Accessing the Beach Bar will require you to show your membership card. Effective on June 23, there will be an attendant at the top of the beach entry that will check for membership cards and resort cards to access the Beach Bar. Only Club Members and Resort Guests will be able to enjoy the Beach Bar.

4. Beach services remain available to our Club Members with Beach access and Mansion Resort Guests. The check-in attendant at the beach will register you as in past years for the team to provide you with your towels, chairs, and umbrella services as needed

As the temperatures rise and the sun shines more brightly, we look forward to a new season at our amazing club by the bay. The 2023 Advisory Board is now in place and, as always, encourages members to provide feedback on what is working well for them and where there may be areas of opportunity. The Advisory Board meets monthly with Troon and Ocean Edge management and the minutes from those meetings are posted on the Ocean Edge website for your review. SPRING CLEAN-UP

Our spring clean-up and mulching was done in both MSC pool and Fletcher basketball court. Flower beds were weeded and edged and overgrown shrubs were pruned. We are looking forward to this coming week as two J1 summer staff will join the Agronomy team allowing us to detail the course into its summer condition.

DRY CONDITIONS DRY CONDITIONS OVER SEEDING OVER SEEDING

How quickly we go from a rainy winter to an abnormally dry and warm spring With the last 3 season all have serious drought conditions we will monitor our drought levels as spring turns to summer The lack of rain and warmer than normal temperatures has accelerated the timeline of our plant health applications Application such as pre-emergence herbicides for weeds and our wetting agent application for localized dry spots that would normally go out at the end of May early June are going out now So, if at home you have any new planting or renovated lawns, I suggest keeping them well water as we move through this dry spell.

On the course we continue to try and over seed our rough areas where we have done extensive tree removals

Pictured left is the right side of the 5th green where we have done two spring seedings with our Aerovator and have seen great germination. We are using a combinate of ryegrass and turf type tall fescue for the overseed. The Ryegrass is a quick

germinator that will give us the first ground cover The turf type tall fescue has the best drought tolerance that will help throughout the summer months

Fellow Members,

Wow. We have passed the official start of the season on Cape Cod with Memorial Day coming and going. We saw many new and familiar faces out enjoying the golf course. It is in great shape and we encourage you to see for yourself. As we head into the season, please take advantage of the upcoming golf events listed on the Club Calendar. These are great ways to enjoy the course and meet new members.

Now is the time to knock off the rust and fire up your swing for the season. Stop by or send an email to book a lesson today.

The weather is heating up and so will the golf course. As the grass begins to grow, Craig and his team will be hard at work keeping up the excellent course conditions. Our hats are off to them for the great playability of the course.

New pickleball program beginning June 17th: Member doubles ladder play. Competitive matches to move up and down in a ladder format. Super fun! Thursday & Friday’s 3:00-5:00 at Blueberry Pond.

Ocean Edge men ’ s and women ’ s tennis teams. Competing against neighboring clubs. Women’s matches are every Wednesday beginning June 28th and running through Labor Day. Men’s Matches are held on Saturdays from 9:00-11:00

Welcome back Everyone!

We are so excited to see your smiling faces at the MSC! We had the busiest winter at MSC to date. Jon, Jose, Chris, and Ilona kept the ship afloat with their attention to the front desk, while the fitness instructors welcomed new members to group exercise classes. We received all our Life Fitness cardio equipment along with other toys for the fitness programs.

I would like to introduce you to the newest addition on our instructor team, Sarah Barkhuff. Sarah is a yoga instructor with over 25 years of experience in the Boston area. She will be doing the beach yoga Thursday through Sunday starting May 25th at 8:15 am at our mansion side beach. She recently moved to Brewster full time and we are so lucky to have her join us at Ocean Edge. Welcome, Sarah!

Joseph Pilates once said, “Pilates is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit.” The Pilates reformer helps improve posture, flexibility, strength, and balance. Cider-poached salmon, grape and brown rice salad

ingredients

1 1/2 cups brown medium-grain rice

500ml apple cider

1 tsp whole black peppercorns

2 dried bay leaves

4cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, thickly sliced

3 sprigs fresh thyme

4 x 200g boneless salmon fillets, skin on

1 small Granny Smith apple, halved, cored, thinly sliced

2 baby fennel, trimmed, very thinly sliced (fronds reserved)

250g green seedless grapes, halved

2 tbsp finely chopped fresh chives

80g baby rocket

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

1 tbsp chopped fresh dill

2 tsp wholegrain mustard

Pinch of sugar

Dressing Instructions

Cook rice following packet directions Refresh under cold water Drain well Cool

Meanwhile, place cider, 2 cups water, peppercorns, bay leaves, ginger and thyme in a large, deep frying pan over high heat Bring to the boil Reduce heat to low Add salmon Cover. Simmer gently for 8 to 10 minutes, for medium, or until cooked to your liking

Remove from heat Using a spatula, carefully lift salmon from liquid and transfer to a plate. Discard poaching liquid.

Whisk vinegar, oil, dill, mustard and sugar together in a jug

Place apple, rice, fennel, grape and chives in a large bowl. Drizzle with 1/2 the dressing. Season well Toss to combine Arrange rice mixture and rocket on a serving plate Flake salmon, discarding skin, and place on top of rice. Drizzle with remaining dressing. Sprinkle with reserved fennel fronds Serve
