Step 1. Cut a piece of beading thread 120cm long. Thread a needle onto one end and string 32 seed beads. Push them along to the middle of the thread and tie into a tight ring. Make sure you have an equal amount of thread either side of the ring. Step 2. Thread the second needle onto the other strand. Onto one strand, string 2 seed beads and 1 bicone. Onto the other, string 2 seed beads then pass the needle through the bicone on the other thread in the opposite direction. Pull evenly on both strands to tighten. Step 3. Onto one strand string 2 bicones. Onto the other strand, string 1 bicone then pass the needle through the last bicone on the other strand. As before the thread goes in the opposite direction to the other. Step 4. Pull both strands evenly to tighten. This will ensure that your bracelet will not curve. Repeat steps 3 & 4 until you have almost the desired length – you will be adding a further 2cm of beading to create the remaining part of the clasp. Step 5. Onto one strand string 4 seed beads. String 2 seed beads onto the other strand and pass the needle through the last two beads on the other strand – again in the opposite direction. Pull tight. Step 6. String 2 seed bead onto one strand then take the other strand, and without adding more beads, pass it through these 2 seed beads in the opposite direction. Pull tight so that all the seed beads sit snug against each other. Repeat this step 3 more times. Step 7. To create the beaded toggle string 2 seed beads and 1 bicone onto one strand. Onto the other, string 2 seed beads then pass the needle through the bicone on the other thread in the opposite direction. As you pull evenly on both strands make sure that any thread showing between the seed beads is also tightened. Step 8. Repeat step 3 twice. To create the toggle shape string a single bicone onto each strand the pass both strands in the opposite direction through the first bicone added in step 7. Step 9. Gently pull the strands so that this short bicone length is drawn into a ball. If desired pass the thread back through the bead group to give extra strength then knot both strands to the bracelet. Weave the free ends back down the bracelet then trim off the excess. Add dabs of glue to the knots and leave to dry completely.

Par Puca was formed after a French designer struggled to find the shapes of beads she required for her designs, so she created them herself! Like CzechMates beads, these are also produced in the Czech Republic ensuring a high standard of finish. These barrel shaped beads have one threading hole through the centre. They are a brilliant accompaniment to the Arcos Par Puca bead as they fit perfectly in their centre. These little beads offer so many design opportunities allowing you to create intricately woven designs.

CHRISTMAS TREE PENDANT

1. Using the thickest wire (0.60mm) cut a 15mm length, next find the centre and bend both sides of the wire upwards to a 90 degree angle.

2. Move the pliers to each side in turn and bend the wire outwards the opposite way. Now using a ruler measure each of the outward sides for 1 cm each side and bend the wire upward at the 1cm mark on each side cross the wires at about 4cm then bend the wires at the cross point straight upwards. Next make a loop with the round nose pliers to close the frame of your Christmas tree. 3. Now you need the thinner wire (0.02mm) cut about 40cm at least and starting at the bottom (pot end of the pendant ) wrap the wire around 3 or four times at one side of the pot thread on 3 crystals in the lighter colour then wrap the wire 3 times, then add 3 more crystals and wrap across to the other side of the pot. 4. Wrap the wire around the bottom of the tree about 6 times which will take to the corner of the frame, next thread on some green seed beads and then a darker crystal a few more green seed beads then a light coloured crystal then more green seed beads then wrap across to the other side of the frame a couple of times . Keep working in this way up your frame with the random crystals which are the lights on the tree. When you get to the top wrap the wire around a few times to secure it in place. 5. Starting on the opposite side of the frame just above the corner add a new piece of the thinner wire (0.02mm) about 30 cm , wrap about 3 times on the right side of the frame in between the first two rows add 4 pearls and then 1 light crystal then 4 more pearls then 1 crystal , wrap the wire around the left side of the frame two rows up but this time you want it to hang like Christmas tinsel . Keep working up the tree wrapping on row 6 on the right , row 8 on the left , row 10 on the right and then on the top by the loop add a crystal at the top , your tree pendant is now finished 6. Add a jump ring to the bail and then to the loop on the Christmas tree . 7. To make the necklace cut the chain to a comfortable length add a jump ring to one end and then thread the chain through the bail with the Christmas tree on it and then attach a jump ring to the chain.

Using an arm span length of Nymo, thread on a stopper bead approx. 4 from the end. Row 1: The pattern repeat is: 1 x A, 3 x D. (Picture 1) Keep adding pattern repeats until there are enough beads to go round your tea light holder; in my case it was 28 repeats.

FROSTED TEA LIGHT DECORATION

Remove the stopper bead and tie the thread in a double knot. Thread through the row 1 beads for a couple of repeats, come out at an A bead and thread through the empty hole. Row 2: The pattern repeat is: 1 x D, 1 x B, 1 x D then thread through the empty hole of the A bead from the previous row. (Picture 2) Repeat until the round has been completed. Before joining the round check that the beading is not twisted. Thread through the final A bead and step up by threading through the first D bead added on row two and the empty hole of the first B bead. Row 3: The pattern repeat is: 1 x D, 1 x A, 1 x D then thread through the empty hole of the B bead from the previous row. Repeat until the round is finished stepping up at the end as per the previous row. Row 4: Add 3 x D between the empty holes of each D bead from row 3. (Picture 3) When you have reached the end of the final row slide your beading onto the tea light holder and check the fit. Finish off the row by knotting the thread and threading through some of the beads and knot again. If the beadwork is a little loose follow the thread path through your work pulling tight and knotting at regular intervals. Sew in the starting tail following the thread path from the pattern. Now the fun bit! You can decorate your beadwork in a number of ways. I chose to add an E bead to alternate A beads and then F beads to the remaining A beads (they reminded me of frosty shards.) If you are using alternate beads remember to check that you have an even number of pattern repeats. (Picture 4) You could use all E beads or all F beads, a loop of 5 x D beads (Picture 6) or go for real sparkle and use G beads. (Picture 5) This is where you personalise your beadwork! Note about the D beads you can mix the two colours together for a random effect or use all of one type – the choice is yours. FIND THE ADVANCED TEA LIGHT PATTERN ONLINE AT THE LINK ABOVE.

1. Cut 20cm of 0.8wire & straighten with fingers or nylon pliers 2. Bend wire to 90°, 5cm from end (tail). 3. Using oval object or mandrel about 27cms, wrap the wire around with the tail at one end. 4. Wrap wire around tail base x3. 5. Using either chain nose pliers or ring bending pliers, create a point at the other end to the tail, slightly to one side 6. Bring longer wire to the front and gently curve downwards. 7. Wrap over the point once, cutting excess and smoothing down, one side of leaf should be smaller than the other. 8. Cut long length of 0.31mm wire and starting at the top of the leaf at the tail end, on the wider side, start wrapping a few times over top of wire until enough space to add beads. 9. String on enough beads to fill the gap from edge to centre. 10. Wrap the wire once around the centre wire, over the top. 11. String enough beads on the wire to fit in the gap between the centre wire and the other side of the leaf. 12. Wrap around the edge of the leaf x3. 13. Pass the wire back through and wrap around the centre wire. 14. Pass through the beads on the larger side, under the edge. 15. Wrap wire enough to create enough space for another row. 16. Repeat above steps until the whole leaf is full (there may be a gap at the bottom on either just the narrower side or both). 17. Wrap wire around a few times, cut excess and smooth. 18. For the smaller leaf, repeat using a smaller part of a mandrel. 19. Bend tail to 90° on smaller leaf. 20. Lay leaf on top of larger leaf and wrap the small leaf’s tail around the larger one at the top on the larger leaf x3, cut excess. 21. Bend tail on larger leaf to 90° and create a closed loop using round nose pliers. Wrap and cut the excess. 22. String 6 pip beads onto the centre of a length of 0.31 wire. 23. Thread one end of the wire back through 3 of the beads and pull tight to create a circle, with wire on opposite sides. 24. Thread 1 bicone onto wire and pass other wire through opposite side of bicone, pull tight to centre of flower. 25. Place over the top of wraps at top of small leaf and wrap around the top, so it covers the wraps at the top of both leaves, but doesn’t hide the loop. Pass the wires through the bicone on either side. 26. Wrap around smaller leaf until secure, trim excess wire. 27. Add jump ring to loop and put on necklace. 28. For earrings mirror the leaves and attach to ear wires. For a bracelet, add jump ring to loop and attach chain, cut chain to desired length, attach to the larger leaf using jump ring, and cut in half, attach the other end to clasp using a jump ring.

How to use your Free Gift Follow the simple instructions below to learn how to make your bracelet and earrings!

Step 1 Take your eyepins and some of your glass bicone beads Step 2 Place one bicone bead onto an eyepin and trim the pin down to 1cm above the bead. Take your flat nose pliers and bend the pin above the bead to a 90 degree angle. Step 3 Take your round nose pliers and turn a loop above the bead on your pin. You will now have a loop on either side of your bead that you can use to connect it to other pins. Step 4 Repeat the previous steps to make as many bicone charms as you need to fit onto your bracelet. Once you have made enough join them together by opening and closing the loops on the pins. Step 5 Create 2 lengths of beads to fit either side of your snowflake charm. Attach these to your connector charm using a jumpring on either side. Make sure your jumprings are securely closed and that your bracelet fits around your wrist. Step 6 Add a jumpring onto both ends of the bracelet and a lobster clasp onto one side. Step 7 To create your earrings, make one of these eyepin charms with a bead on it. Take a headpin and thread on 2 beads of your choosing and loop above the top bead to secure them onto the pin. Step 8 Connect this headpin to the eyepin and finally attach the top loop on the eyepin to your earwire. Repeat this for your second earring. Take your designs further by adding dangling charms to your bracelet next to the clasp or making multiple droplets for your earrings!
