The reuse of the cement factory, studied in a planning perspective that looks to the future, is a work of redevelopment and re-appropriation of a site of industrial archaeology. The project has been studied through various scales and various levels of detail, also considering the logistic aspects, embracing a gradual design over time. The micro-city project hosts different functions in the existing spaces: a Vertical Farm, a coworking space and Fab Lab, an events space, a museum and several bistros. In the new building there is a spa and a luxury hostel.

Standing on a podium, the elliptical arena consists of three stacked shimmering rings connected by light, transparent glass bands. Its elliptical outline reinterprets the shape of the classic amphitheatre with materials like aluminium tubes and LED strips on the façade. Inside, the arena features two covered tiers above the parterre level, served by four levels open to the public which host various hospitality services such as restaurants, lounges and skyboxes.

TASK:
Together with a team of about twelve colleagues, I took care of the development of the executive project, starting from the final design of the client, developing the technical characteristics of the project in every aspect (architectural, plant and structural), thanks to the interaction with the experts of the other disciplines involved in the realization of the project and the use of BIM. The experience gained during this first phase was essential to follow the development of the project in the construction phase, to which I gave punctual support.
BAULO SAULO EARTH HOUSE
Kaila Looro competiton of 2021 proposed to design an eath made School for the senegalese kids. The design started from memories of school days; The design process strated from extracting four main keywords from personal experiences. The three row-buildings create at least three in-between spaces. Instead of being rigidly put together, the classrooms play a soft dance, back-and-forth, which makes the surrounding outdoor spaces even more differentiated from one another. Round geometries are used outdoors to be in harmony with the playful classrooms and to promote spontaneity.
