BSRC AQUATIC PROGRAMS

Summer 2023

11057 – AEC/SFA/O2 $195.00 – July 3rd, 4th, & 5th

Prerequisite(s): 12 + years old

Comprehensive training covering all aspects of standard first aid and CPR as well as skills specific to emergencies in an aquatic setting. Participants also get certified in Standard First Aid Level C with AED and Oxygen Administration where they will develop the knowledge and techniques for first aid care and the use of oxygen as a supplement in an emergency care situation.

Time: 9-5pm (Each day)

Attendance is 100% mandatory

11058 – Bronze Medallion/Cross $315.00 – July 7th, 8th, 9th, 14th, 15th, 16th, & 22nd

These courses are the prerequisites to the National Lifeguard Certification that is required to work at the BSRC Pool as a lifeguard. Bronze Medallion teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education - judgment, knowledge, skill, and fitness. Bronze Cross is designed for lifesavers who want the challenge of more advanced training including learning the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding, the principles of emergency procedures and teamwork.

*Prerequisite(s): 13 years old & Standard First Aid Level C w AED

Time: 5-10pm (Friday) 9-2pm (Saturday/Sunday)

Attendance is 100% mandatory

11059 – National Lifeguard $325.00 – July 24th – 28th

National Lifeguard (NL) certification is recognized as the standard for lifeguards in Canada. NL training develops the basic lifeguarding skills, principles, and decision-making process to help lifeguards create a safe and enjoyable facility. This course teaches lifeguards to prevent emergencies and respond effectively. Administration (O2)

*Prerequisite(s): Bronze Cross (need not to be current), Standard First Aid Level C w AED, & 16 years of age at time of exam.

Time: 9-5pm (Each day)

Attendance is 100% mandatory

11060 – Lifesaving Instructor $480.00 – August 1st, 3rd, 8th, 10th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, & 24th

Registrants receive all 3 instructor certifications required to teach Swim for Life programs, Swim Abilities, and Bronze Star, Medallion, & Cross.

*Prerequisite(s): 16+ years old, Bronze Cross or higher (need not to be current), & current Standard First Aid Level C w AED.

Time: 9-3:30pm (Each day)

Attendance is 100% mandatory

SWIM CLASS PRICES AT A GLANCE

Parent & Tot 1-3 *8 classes

Preschool 1-5 *8 classes

Swimmer 1-2 * 8 classes (Now 30 minutes)

ATTENTION:

*Parent & Tot 1-3 are parented/caregiver assisted classes. One parent/caregiver only per participant is permitted in the water.

*In order to offer the full spectrum of swimming lessons classes, some Preschool and Swimmer classes are combined with another level(s)

*Not sure what swimming level suits your children and/or yourself? Contact us through the aquatic programs e-mail and we will assist in arranging a FREE swim assessment.

• NOTE: Parent/Caregiver must be in the water within arm’s reach of all swim assessment recipients that are 7 years old and younger. As per our facility supervision requirement.

*Prerequisite: 4 to 12 months old. Participants are ready to learn to enjoy the water with a parent/caregiver. Proper swimwear for parents/caregivers is required. See front desk staff for more information.

*’Little Swimmers’ water diapers are $3.50 each*
