the busiest the Club has ever seen. Despite the continuous rain and cloud cover, the Club remained full of activity with an increase in Member use in all areas. From summer camp to Friday nights, the vibrant energy was tangible! We also welcomed more new Members this summer than we ever have before and they represent a mix of all ages from age 28 through 76. It is our goal to continue to appeal to a diverse membership which is the sign of a healthy Club. As we “fall forward” into this season, please take a look at all of the great social events that are planned from now throughout April on page 13. Your input was very helpful as we determined the events of the season. You’ll see many popular favorites listed, such as Winter Wonderland and the Food & Wine Festival, but you’ll also see some new additions like the Disney Character Brunch and the Elvis Tribute Dinner. Be sure to “Save the Date!” and make your reservations early for these popular events. Also, please take a moment to revisit the

online dining reservations system because we have upgraded our reservations module. We hope the new module will make it easier and quicker for you to make your reservations this season. We look forward to keeping up the momentum you have created via referrals this summer. We thank you for introducing the Club to your family, friends and coworkers and look forward to meeting more of them as the season progresses. In addition, for those of you with children ages 28-35, please consider the gift of membership for your child this holiday season. The Club’s new Junior Legacy Program is a wonderful way for your children and their families to enjoy the Club for many years to come!

summer, golf maintenance renovated the green side bunkers. Our goal was to give the bunkers more Jay Boring character and make them more challenging and consistent in playability. This was a timely process that included removing of all the existing sand, reshaping the edges, and installing new sand. Once the new sand was in each bunker, it took approximately 3 weeks for the sand to pack and settle to create

a firm base. This was done through watering, rain and a vibratory tamp. The sand that we removed from the bunkers was then used to topdress the fairways. Topdressing the fairways is a longterm improvement that creates better drainage and makes the fairways smoother and firmer. We thank you for your patience as we worked hole-by-hole to complete this renovation over the summer and hope that these course improvements will enhance your golf experiences at the Club!

Playing Through! Camp Wrap-up The 2013 CRCC Golf Camp was a great success! Lead Instructors, Dolph Roder and Jimmy Rockelman along with PGA 1st Assistant Professional, Andrew Dodson and PGA 2nd Assistant Professional, Patrick Schmitz, complimented the classes well by adding a FUN curriculum whereby the kids learned the basic fundamentals of the game, were tested weekly, rewarded, played games, and learned the rules and etiquette. Many thanks to the juniors and parents for being involved in our golf camp throughout the summer months. The Holiday Camps in November & December are just around the corner, so we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

New Tee Box on Hole #5 A new tee box was added on this hole that will provide more hitting space, tee selections, and yardage variations.

Overseeding The lush ‘green’ turf of last season will be re-introduced this winter with over-seeding on Monday - Tuesday, November 4 - 5. Rye grass will be used for the rough. The process of overseeding involves extensive watering to ensure the seed stays moist and for germination to begin. Germination of a grass seed takes between 10 to 14 days and the golf

course will resume its fast playing surfaces and lower heights by November 25. The maintenance staff appreciates your patience during the over-seeding process.

C LU B EV E N T R E S E RVAT I O N P O L I C Y Special club events, wine dinners, Saturday night seafood buffets and holiday dining are popular events that sell out and require the purchase of special food and beverage products, equipment, entertainment, etc. Last minute un-replaced cancellations (including changes to the party number) are unfair to those Members who are turned away due to full capacity and cause the Club to incur unnecessary expenses if the reservation is not replaced. As a result, the Club must exercise a firm enforcement of the special event and holiday dining policy. • At the time of making your reservation we will charge your account 100% of the event price. • Please let us know if you have other Members dining with you, so we may contact them. • You may cancel 7 days prior to event, without being charged. • If you cancel less than 7 days prior to the event, you will have to pay 100% of the event price. Note: Should there be a wait list and we are able to fill your reservation less than 6 days prior to the event, your account will be credited in full.
