DIGITAL DEBUTS APRIL & MAY SARAH VEAK ONLINE APRIL 6 - MAY 26
Before new forms ever make it to the wheel, hours are spent dreaming. Once there, I am moved by the ebb and flow of listening and guiding. Each piece is unique. Each handle, knob, or spout is made with much thought and deliberation. Listening to the piece and what it is asking for is crucial. This method of working is used through the process of carving, glazing and firing the piece to its completion. -Sarah Veak, Artist Statement 2018
JUNE & JULY MELODY MONROE ONLINE JUNE 1 - JULY 31
My curiosity sparks when I look at a map, new landscape, or scientific drawing, which always contains fascinating paths and structures. I translate these wonders into my work in the form of line, pattern, color, and shape, while porcelain allows for the blank canvas on which to communicate my discoveries. I hope to entice the viewer to interact with my pieces: follow the lines, look inside them, explore the form, and ultimately make their own discoveries. -Melody Monroe, Artist Statement 2018
