A woman on the 700 block of East Court Street reported at 10:28 p.m. a domestic assault that occurred earlier in the day. The woman had numerous scratches on her face and lacerations on her neck. A suspect was arrested for felony domestic assault (strangulation). Sunday, Sept. 16 A woman on the 800 block of West Prairie Street called for medical help at 1:45 p.m. She was suffering chest pains and was transported to an area hospital. An injury crash near the intersection of East State and North Linden streets was reported at 3:35 p.m. One of the drivers was cited for numerous violations. A person on the 200 block of West State Street asked police at 9:01 p.m. to unlock a vehicle.

The week Sept. 10-16, Belle Plaine firefighters responded to the following selected calls: Tuesday, Sept. 11 Firefighters were dispatched at 4:22 p.m. to help paramedics with a call for medical help. An assistant football coach on the practice field near the intersection of Park and Elk streets was suffering an apparent heart attack. He was transported to an area hospital. Saturday, Sept. 15 Firefighters were sent to the OK Corral, at the intersection of Delaware Avenue (County Road 59) and Highway 169 to help with a call for medical help. Sunday, Sept. 16 Firefighters were sent to the intersection of Linden and State streets at 3:37 p.m. to assist with a two-vehicle crash.
