CITY OF BELLE PLAINE NOTICE OF HEARING ON ASSESSMENTS FOR PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE 2016 STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Belle Plaine, Minnesota will meet at City Hall located at 218 North Meridian Street in Belle Plaine on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 6:35 p.m. to consider objections to the proposed assessments for the public improvements of the 2016 Street Improvement Project, heretofore ordered by the City Council. Scott County Board Proceedings BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS COUNTY OF SCOTT SEPTEMBER 6, 2016 (1) The Board of Commissioners, in and for the County of Scott, Minnesota, met in the Courthouse Board Room in the City of Shakopee, Minnesota, and convened at 9:00 a.m., with the following members present: Commissioner Marschall, presiding, Commissioner Wagner, Commissioner Wolf, Commissioner Beard and Commissioner Ulrich. (2) Amendments to the Agenda: Commissioner Marschall stated the normal County Board agenda has been adjusted to accommodate the people in the audience regarding the request for an Interim Use Permit for mining for S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. and Jordan Gravel, LLC. Commissioner Marschall reviewed the opportunities the public has had to provide comment on this request. She explained why further public comment will not be taken at today’s meeting. (3) Minutes: On a motion by Commissioner Ulrich, seconded by Commissioner Wolf, the Minutes of August 16, 2016 were approved. (4) Manage Challenges and Create Opportunities: Chair Marschall recessed the meeting at 11:13 a.m. and reconvened at 11:26. Tigers Rack Up the Miles by Dan Ruud The Belle Plaine High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams put in plenty of miles last week, both on the bus and on the courses. The Tigers competed in last Tuesday’s Run of the Lakes Meet hosted by Waconia at Crown College, where the Belle Plaine girls placed fourth among 11 teams and the boys fifth among 12 teams. On Saturday, the Tigers ventured to far southeastern Minnesota to compete in the Jim Flim Invitational at Winona, where the girls’ and boys’ teams placed fourth and fifth, respectively. On the way to Winona, the Tigers got in one more warm-up run. “Stopping in Cannon Falls to run along the Cannon River Valley Trail on our way to the hotel Friday was an excellent way to break up the ride down,� said Belle Plaine coach Steve Schroeder.

The rest of the field with full teams consisted of Dover-Eyota (141), Winona (169), Rochester John Marshall (187), Onalaska, Wis. (215), Chatfield (275), Kingsland (284), WabashaKellogg (332), Winona Cotter (333) and St. Charles (373). The individual medalist was Kendall Pfrimmer of Mayo with a time of 19:42, followed by Century’s Alyson Welch in 19:46. Bumping up Belle Plaine’s team score by finishing 17, 18th and 19th in a pack of 90 runners were Herrmann (21:40), Stolt (21:42) and Leger (21:45). The other top finishers for the Tigers were Elizabeth Schmidt (30th in 22:15) and Jordyn Williams (54th in 23:35).
