Nestled into a 9-acre parcel at the intersection of Neff and Eagle Roads is the newly opened, 4000+ square foot space called Hanai, built by Kim and Tim Smythe. The Smythe’s moved to Bend from Hawaii in 1998. After selling their business in 2015, they dedicated themselves to giving back to the Central Oregon community that has given them so much. The couple created a place where people of all ages, from all backgrounds can gather to authentically connect through programming and activities that support healing, nurture conscious connection and celebrate community. Hanai was created with the belief that abundant communities evolve from building meaningful relationships in welcoming spaces. “Hanai is a Hawaiian word that is o7en translated as ‘to nurture’. The facility’s spaces are flexible and can be used individually for in2mate classes and workshops or reserved in its entirety for retreats, weddings or other community celebrations.

“We want people to gather at Hanai and realize we are more alike than different. We encourage people to leave their biases at the door as they enter Hanai. We want to provide access to transformative opportunities and we’re actively seeking relationships with practitioners who have complementary programs
