Virtual Visiting

Dignity Room

If you’re admitted to hospital and do not have your personal belongings with you, we have a Dignity Room run by the Friends of Airedale Charity. The service provides items of clothing, hygiene products and things to generally make your stay more comfortable.

Making decisions about your treatment

We will ask you to agree to any form of examination, treatment or care. This is called giving consent. You can give implied, spoken or written consent.

Sometimes you will sign a consent form confirming that the risks and benefits of treatment have been explained to you before making your decision – this is informed consent.

Sometimes it can be as simple as offering your arm to a nurse who has asked to take your blood pressure – this is implied consent.

We will give you the information you need to help you make your decision. Please ask if there is anything you do not understand. 6
