Welcome to Berlin Welcome to Berlin in Hartford County, Connecticut. Although known as “Home of the Redcoats” and “The Heart of Connecticut,” Berlin is most famous for its brickyards and manufacturing the country’s first tin ware from a shop on what was then the Hartford-New Haven path, now known as Lower Lane. Considering Berlin as a home for your business is a good place to start. Being in the center of the state provides easy access for our business community; easy to find and easy to reach with major interstate highways at our back door. Routes 5 & 15, formerly known as the Wilbur Cross Highway, is now known as the Berlin Turnpike in Berlin as it is in neighboring towns. Whether you’re a current business or resident of Berlin or a newcomer to our community, you will find our town is a proud community; ready to make you feel at home. Berlin’s Economic Development Commission offers incentive programs for businesses, designed to assist while building or expanding. Berlin possesses a wonderful mix of old and new. It is a town where gracious living comes together with country charm in this agriculturally rich yet progressive community. Town amenities include an excellent public school system, quality private schools, three libraries, four volunteer fire departments, three post offices,

police department, senior housing and activity center, public health nursing service, five town owned parks on over 600 acres, two public swimming pools, a beautiful golf course, country club, historical museum, “pick-your-own” orchards, civic organizations and so much more. Whether you’re single, a new family or a retiree, Berlin has a diverse variety of housing options to fit your needs. Recently, Berlin has added age-targeted communities, two lakeside condo communities, and will see the transformation of an old factory into condos as well. Luxurious housing has taken its place in Berlin’s open, picturesque landscape. We invite you to become a part of this growing area. We take pride in our ability to expand and make a place for new people and businesses while preserving open space and farms in a rural setting throughout the 27 square miles which includes Berlin, Kensington and East Berlin. At 56, the Chamber of Commerce is proud to be one of Berlin’s oldest business advocate organizations and to introduce you to our community. Whether for your home or business, we hope you will choose Berlin as your relocation destination. Katherine A. Fuechsel Executive Director

The business has grown to become one of the largest Tire Distributors in Central Ct. and carries most major brands, with over 30,000 tires in stock. 15 trucks provide daily delivery service through out the entire state, selling to garages, car dealers, and other tire stores Greg Schaller is proud to have lived and raised 3 children in the town of Berlin in the last 30 years.
