Expansion of church progressing By Devin Leith-Yessian The Citizen
Building Committee Chair Allan Hall said the added space is needed to accommodate the growing needs of the church’s approximately 300 parishioners. “In order to address today’s society’s needs we needed this,” he said.
As the game began, the hype looked to be warranted, as neither team was able to score for the first nine minutes. But as the game clock ticked below the 3-minute mark, the Redcoats struck first, with Alex Halkias running in a 22-yard touchdown. And it wasn’t long before Halkias found the end-zone again, scoring on a similar rushing TD just two minutes later.
The Redcoat defense was simply smothering against the Warhawks, including the pass protection from the Redcoat secondary. Tony Undercuffler had two interceptions, one which likely prevented a Bloomfield TD.
The renovations center around the Parish Hall, a brick building adjacent to the church which housed the church kitchen, bathroom and some meeting spaces.

Despite the lopsided final score, the stage was set for a close matchup, as both teams entered the night undefeated at 7-0.
“Winning against a very good team by that margin is huge in terms of momentum for us going into future big games,” Halkias said.
The expansion work at Kensington Congregational Church is taking shape, with much of the frame in place.
