Berlin remembers ‘Mr. Camp’ By Charles Kreutzkamp The Berlin Citizen
A man whose influence has touched thousands of lives, Ronald Campanario, died Easter Sunday at the age of 67. Memorial services were held April 25 at St. Paul’s Church in Kensington. “Mr. Camp” taught instrumental music to students in all four Berlin elementary schools, the old Kensington grammar school, and the nowclosed Percival school. Campanario’s nephew, Sal Urso, “had the pleasure of working with him,” Urso said, after his uncle began teaching at McGee Middle School in 1969. Four of Campanario’s Ronald Campanario with Sal Urso.

Thomas “Tommy” Carotenui of TNT Motorsports in Kensington recently won first place for the second year in a row at the Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show, held annually in Daytona Beach. Last year, Carotenui won with a “radical” bike – a fully customized “chopper” class machine built entirely from scratch. Last year, radical-class bikes were highly popular, but this year, the bagger-class featured 126 bikes, while “there were only nine radicals,” Carotenui said.
