Remember when a personal trainer was a luxury only the wealthy could afford? Not so anymore, thank goodness. Today’s dizzying pace and stresses make it more important than ever that everyone have a fitness or wellness professional, someone who is passionate about helping you learn how to be proactive instead of reactive about your health. If you’re looking to get and stay healthy, look no further than to Luigi Truono, one of the owners of Retro Fitness Newtown Square, opening soon in the Edgmont Square Shopping Center at Marville. Since his teen years, Luigi has been dedicated to looking and feeling good, inside and out. His extensive education, training and certifications make him an expert on how to get results. Luigi’s good health and youthful looks are due to many decades of eating right, exercising regularly, proper skin care, and spiritual exercises such as meditation and energetic healing. Luigi gets great satisfaction from helping others look and feel their best. After working many years as a professional Cosmetologist, he committed fully to being a wellness professional by becoming certified in Medical, Clinical and Sports Massage. “My primary goal is to help people learn and do what it takes

to grow older and be happy,” Luigi explained. He’s thrilled that his longtime dream is finally coming true: To have one facility to offer the wellness services he believes will help create the New you. Luigi’s personal background and impressive results as a wellness professional sparked him to open a Retro Fitness gym in the Newtown Square area with his partner Geno Truono. After 30 years in corporate America, as an attorney and Regulatory Compliance Officer, Geno decided it was time for a change, a common theme for many former corporate executives. “It’s a risk well worth facing so that I can fully support Luigi’s lifelong dream,” Geno said. “We’re very excited to now be working together on our vision of making a positive difference in the lives of many people in the Newtown Square community.” Geno and Luigi’s extensive due diligence and Geno’s legal experience made them both feel very confident that opening a Retro Fitness gym for Edgmont and Newtown Square residents was a sound financial decision. Since Retro Fitness was founded in 2005, it has grown into a national fitness system with more than 150 clubs across 16 states. Its rapid expansion is often due to partnerships with visionary local business owners like Luigi and Geno, and because each RF location receives dedicated start-up and ongoing operational support. The Members of Retro Fitness Newtown Square will be in very good hands with Ed Winfield, Director of Fitness and Programming. After serving our country as a Navy SEAL, Ed worked many years as an artist. To support his art business, Ed became a personal trainer. “I quickly realized the work fitness trainers and massage therapists do is an art form,” Ed stated. “It requires creative thinking and transforming someone into a healthier person.” Ed’s 30 years as a full-time fitness professional make him an expert in supporting and mentoring the Club’s personal trainers, all of whom are nationally certified, some with college degrees in fitness and exercise kinesiology. Ed and his staff will help members understand that physical transformation is not just all about muscle; many physical and personal
