Dear Charleston Resident,
I am happy to share the city of Charleston Recreation Department’s spring brochure, with a range of activities, programs, and events. This season’s brochure, which includes a variety of sports, events, lessons, camps, and afterschool programs, is a testament to our ongoing commitment to providing enjoyable, affordable recreation for all of our city’s residents, both youth and adults.
We continue taking steps to enhance our public realm. This fall, we resurfaced the tennis courts at the Bees Landing Rec Center and at Mary Utsey Park, which will also allow us to offer more pickle ball courts at those locations. The Parks and Recreation Master Plan has been created, which outlines a comprehensive plan to meet our city’s parks and recreation needs today and over the next decade.
As we strive to create the best quality of life for all of Charleston’s citizens, we will continue working to create opportunities for our residents to interact, stay active, and have fun. The Recreation Department is home to many opportunities, so I encourage you and your loved ones to take advantage of all that they, and the rest of our great city, have to offer.
