Lord Adebowale Sixth Form learn some inspires BGA students Barclays Life skills. On Friday 22nd January Lord Adebowale came to BGA and held an extensive Q&A with our students. He is a highly accomplished individual and is a former CEO of the charity Centrepoint. His passion for social justice struck a chord with our students; the atmosphere in the room was electric. Lord Adebowale was equally impressed and was effusive in his praise of our students.

The students were a deeply impressive bunch and offered some real diamond thoughts. This is the best talk I’ve been involved in and I’ve been doing this a long time. Your students showed some really deep independent thinking from first principles; whatever you’re doing with them keep doing it!

Lord Adebowale CBE

On Wednesday 20th January. Our Year 13 students took part in a lively Barclays Life Skills event that was run in conjunction with Efe Ezekiel, Founder and Youth Mentor of UShine IShine. The workshop was devised to inspire youngpeople to get the skills they need for a better future and the session focused on personal finance with the main aim of preparing our students for the reality of university life and managing their own money sensibly. Students left the workshop buzzing; they felt inspired and motivated to take on the challenges of university life with a newly found knowledge of personal finance and ignited aspirations to realise and fulfil their dreams.
