A WARM WELCOME

New members of the Bewonder* family are made to feel at home even before they start.

Your Buddy

A ‘welcome’ email with an introduction to their Bewonder* buddy and line manager sets the tone. A coordinated induction programme follows with a meet and greet across all areas of the agency, one-to-one time with each department, training and ongoing support.



WE’RE GOOD AT LISTENING


We’re in the communications business so understand better than most the importance of having a voice, being given the opportunity to be heard, encouraged to get your point across and listening! We’re also good at talking, with our senior management team giving regular business, team and industry updates – it’s very much a two way process at Bewonder*. We openly promote this through: • A business wide contact strategy with clearly mapped channels of communication • Regular one-to-ones • Two-way communication • Group mailing lists • Team huddles • Interdepartmental meetings • Encouraging feedback • Regular newsletters


Great ideas and outstanding work sets us apart as an agency. How we recognise and reward that sets us apart as an employer. • We embrace a culture of sharing success individually, on a team basis or agency-wide in person or by email • At team meetings we celebrate one good thing for the week with our peers • Our ‘Destination Inspiration’ initiative recognises outstanding performance with an all-expenses paid trip to one of the world’s best cities for art, design and culture • Bewonder* Purple Pencils are awarded to individuals who deliver great ideas and outstanding work consistently • Client Services nominate their colleagues for a ‘gold star’ during their weekly huddles • Vouchers are awarded at team days to individuals who go above and beyond • Outstanding work is recognised with entry in to the REVO Purple Apple & Sceptre Awards – the shopping centre marketing and management equivalent of the Oscars • We like to say thank you. PERSONAL & TEAM DEVELOPMENT


Our future growth strategy continues to be underpinned by upskilling our employees with high-impact learning, coaching and mentoring. This development starts with insight profiling across the team to help people understand themselves, understand others and make the most of the relationships that affect them in the workplace. We further support this via: • Dedicated and bespoke individual training plan for each employee • Leadership 360 programme • LinkedIn Learning • CIM/CIPR • Industry conferences (i.e. Leeds Digital Festival; Shopping Centre Management Conference; Purple Apple Workshops)

ARD RDER

Clichéd, but we’re firm believers at Bewonder*. To prove it we host regular team days, the most recent involving an agency wide bake-off competition followed by karaoke and ‘refreshments’. Summer and Christmas events are already in the planning stage. Social events including gokarting, five-a-side, quiz nights, gin tasting, day at the races, Tough Mudder and team walks are a regular thing.


CHANGE MANAGEMENT

As a fast moving business, managing change in a structured but engaging way is crucial to employee buy-in and future success. Managing change creatively holds no fear for us. For example, we’re currently incentivising the introduction of timesheets across the agency with a Time In = Time Out campaign with the successful teams rewarded with ‘time out’ themed rewards including yoga classes and subsidised ‘Happy Hour’.



Key milestones and birthdays are celebrated agency wide‌ (it’s our own 3rd birthday this year!)

...usually with cake.


ONE FAMILY We raise a glass during good times, reach out during sad times and are always there for each another. We pride ourselves on being one big Bewonder* family and making everyone feel part of it. It doesn’t end in the office either. We support team member’s personal interests outside their professional lives by adding value to their lifestyles as well. Most recently this has taken the form of kit sponsorship for East Ardsley CC and Leeds Dodge.


HEALTH & WELLBEIN

Our Bewonder* Buddies team are responsible for organising wellbeing activities such as lunchtime walks, meditation breaks and guest appearances from lifestyle coaches. We host our very own Health and Wellbeing Week, put team members through Mental Health First Aid training and have close links with mental health charities Leeds Mind and Mind in London.


CHARITY CHAMPS

Every six months we nominate our ‘Charity Champ’ and agree a calendar of fundraising activities. This year Bewonder* is supporting Crisis, JLL’s charity partner, along with Leeds Children’s Charity, Wakefield Hospice, LandAid and Walk for Wendy – fabulous causes that always bring the very best out of our Bewonder* team, forging close teamwork whilst helping improve people’s lives.




AGILE WORKING Talk isn’t cheap at Bewonder*. Hot desking, flexible working, deploying new technologies and creating inspiring environments give employees the freedom, tools and work spaces to be inspired without constraint. We embrace it, promote it and live it. Day in, day out. Agile working also means smart working. We recognise the importance of a work-life balance so leaving on time and working from home are encouraged where possible. When the midnight oil is required so is pizza – as a sign of our appreciation.


Sharing workload, knowledge and success helps build strong teamwork, promotes collaboration and stimulates engagement. It creates a culture. It makes us who we are.
