Each module takes a project-based learning approach to develop critical problem-solving and creative-thinking skills; youth engage in a process of learning through discovery, imaginative expression, group work and a final project or production.
In partnership with All Hands Raised, the Boys & Girls Club of Portland Metropolitan Area will offer Ninth Grade Counts, a summer transition program for incoming 9th graders. Ninth Graders Count provides the support youth need to start high school on the right track. The program also offers a variety of teen leadership activities designed to develop or enhance skills like communication, conflict management, time management, basic youth development, money management, and career preparation. Ninth Grade Counts is a key component of the All Hands Raised Partnership effort to ensure the success of every child and youth from birth to career. Ninth Grade Counts is open to all teens during the summer. Inquire at your Club to learn how to get involved.
