Summer Brain Gain is offered at all Club sites for elementary kids daily, free of charge, in order to help curb summer learning loss! No sign up is required.

Soccer for Success is offered at Club sites free of charge in order to help kids stay active. Ask your Club for details.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland is commited to keeping kids’ brains active and engaged this summer! Summer Brain Gain gives kids the chance to have fun while learning through fun experiments, inventing, and exploring the world around them.

Each module takes a project-based learning approach to develop critical problem-solving and creative-thinking skills; youth engage in a process of learning through discovery, imaginative expression, group work and a final project or production.

Healthy Living Participants learn about eating right and other ways to stay healthy, and they gain important decision-making and relationship skills from their interactions with coach-mentors and peers. Mentorship They teach kids the fundamentals of soccer, but also strive to help children build confidence and recognize the value of hard work, teamwork and persistence in achieving personal goals. By learning what it takes to play a team sport, kids are also being prepared to be productive citizens. Community-focused Coach-mentors meet with families regularly to educate parents and guardians about how to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle and nurture their child’s personal growth.

Questions? Ask your Club for more details.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

Summer Brain Gain is 8 one-week modules with fun, themed activities for elementary school members.

Soccer for Success is a free after-school program that is proven to help kids establish healthy habits and develop critical life skills through caring coach-mentors and family engagement.
