For our old board, we will be giving our goodbyes to them and enjoy the rest of the night playing the games at Dave & Buster’s. The person I’ll miss the most would be the one and only, Mr. Garside. I’ll miss my gossip buddy, but I hope he continues to be Key Club’s advisor as we love him dearly. With this final note, thank you for reading and I’ll miss you all <3

he International Women's Day card making was creating cards for all of our lovely women staff and advisers to show how we can appreciate them for being at our school and supporting everyone in the district.

I had created 4 cards for my 4 personal favorite teachers making them at home before March 8th; in addition the clubs doing this service were women's league, Keyclub, Uplift, etc. In my first card, I wrote towards Ms Fajardo, admiring her for all the hard work she puts in towards each student, and showing her dedication towards math in a humorous way. In my second card, I wrote towards Ms Le, describing how she is a big impact towards the girls in school sports, creating a monstrous team for basketball while being a new teacher at the school. In my third card, I wrote about Ms Hoyt, as a new teacher at bolsa she is very impactful to many foreign exchange students becoming a well known teacher; to add on, she used to sub for classes at bolsa. Finally in my last card, I wrote towards Ms Fontes, complementing how she encourages everyone to keep trying even though we make mistakes in our lives and to never give up. I believe that this service has made me get closer to my teachers and give them appreciation they deserve on a day for international women's day.

One of the most meaningful events of Key Club for the whole year is to color a smile where mostly all members of Key Club at least once make a card for overseas troops or for elderly, sometimes. First information of these events will be posted on Facebook of BGKC, an online group where officers will first announce the locations, times and date. It is usually a Friday, and as March Color a smile is also on a Friday after school. For this time, we sent cards for overseas troops with 4 cards recorded for 2 hours of community service. I remember there was not enough paper for all of them so some of the people had to draw and decorate the cards with their creativity. These events are in-person, occurring at the lunch table after school. For me this time is a fun community service act where I can contribute my creativity alongside my friends to send these lovely cards for overseas soldiers who might have felt lonely, aparted from their families. As expected, I talked with my friends and together we shared the paper evenly, we also shared the crayon together with a lot of smiles, laughing, and meaningful cards.

The Pack-a-Box event is designed to have participants help pack food boxes for low-income seniors. This event started on the 20th of March and took about 2 hours to finish. When I came there, I saw a huge warehouse where staff welcomed me; I saw multiple large stacks of food that were ready to be packaged. I saw other members of Key Club there, but there were also people from different organizations.

We were directed to a long conveyor, where boxes slowly slid down while simultaneously being packed with liquids and food. My role in the event was to put two cans of beans into each box that came down to me. Some of my partners had similar roles, while others had the role of either making boxes or cutting out supplies to make it easier for suppliers to take out food. There were also staff there who took other responsibilities to help us in the event. I enjoyed the event as I got to work with some of my friends there. Everyone collaborated in the event, which fostered connections as we worked together in packing boxes. In the end, we packed enough boxes for over 900 seniors. Overall, this experience was a good way to help people in need and it made me feel good about myself that I am helping others.

With the app

Save The Trees, members can play a game and earn hours. This is an online service where members can play anywhere and anytime. The purpose of this app is to hop on tree trunks until you complete the level. It typically takes a few days to complete when assigned as an event. This is an easy way for members to earn hours and to make up an event for the month if they haven't already. Playing this game is a lot of fun and might get addictive. I am currently on level 25 in the game and I usually play it for fun even if it is not assigned as an event. Whenever I have free time, I play this game with my friends and try to compete to see who would get a higher score. Although it's not a competitive app, it is fun to try and make it even more enjoyable to play so as not to get bored easily. Even though the app isn't meant to be competitive, it is fun to play around and try to improve its gameplay to avoid being bored too quickly. Overall, because this game is so interesting to play, I strongly advise people who have spare time and want to earn quick hours to play it when it is posted as an event.
