OUR FIRM CHIL Interior Design specializes in the design of large scale residential projects as well as hotels & resorts. CHIL Interior Design is the hospitality studio of B+H, a global leader in interior design, architecture and planning & landscape. What began as a boutique studio in Vancouver more than 40 years ago has grown into a global interior design studio specializing in residential and hospitality design. After building a reputation on projects in Western Canada, the Western United States and Hawaii, we joined B+H in 2010. This partnership has allowed us to flourish as a global design studio. Although our firm has changed over the years, our approach has not: our designs are guided by our client’s vision and goals. Drawing on B+H’s global resources, we can also offer our clients integrated, comprehensive design services. Our focus is based entirely on Residential and Hospitality work, as well as mixed-use projects that combine both. We bring our very experienced planning and design skills developed through our hospitality design, to a careful and detail oriented approach to residential interiors. Our reputation has built on our guiding principles of careful research, informed design and thorough documentation. UNPARALLELED GUEST EXPERIENCES DEVELOPED WITH LUXURY HOTELS INFORM OUR DESIGN APPROACH FOR RESIDENTIAL DESIGN. CHIL’s distinguished hospitality portfolio comprises over 70 significant hotel and resort projects in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Pacific, the Caribbean, Central and South America, the United States and Canada for industry leaders including Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Intrawest Resorts, Pan Pacific Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Hyatt Hotels, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton Hotels, Delta Hotels, Westin Hotels, Coast Hotels, Millennium Development and SilverBirch Hotels & Resorts.

NEW TRENDS FOR RESIDENTIAL We bring our very extensive hospitality experience to bear in the fine detailing and design of quality residential projects. Residential rental projects are seeing a renaissance across North America. This is driven by a falling vacancy rate and steadily increasing real estate values - as well as increasingly mobile work force. Expectations in terms of design, finishes and features remain high for the residents and these expectations need to be met and balanced against the need for durability and longevity of the specified product.

CHIL is a collaborative design office comprised of an award winning team, recently receiving industry awards for Alexandra English Bay and the Village on False Creek Our experience in combined rental residential with commercial office use includes the Aquilini’s West and South Tower at Rogers’ Arena in Vancouver. We are currently working on large rental residential mixeduse projects in Calgary, providing the interior design for over 800 rental units in Westcorp’s Heritage Station Towers, and for the Eau Claire Lands mixed-use project comprised of retail and restaurant spaces, hotels and 1100 rental residential units in 6 towers. We have also been engaged to design the interiors of the new rental residential development at Denny Centre, Seattle with Bosa Properties. This exciting 450-unit tower combines a dynamic and urban aesthetic with a vibrant commercial base at street level. We have collaborated with many of the greater Vancouver and Western Canadian residential developers including Aquilini Investment Group, Bosa Properties, Concord Pacific, GWL Realty Advisors, Intrawest, Ledcor Group, Millennium Development, Pinnacle International, Rennie Marketing, Westbank, and Westcorp.

I ANALYSIS

E1 Amenity: Fitness

The Eau Claire development is the FUSE, the igniting force, that will trigger a new energy for the surrounding neighborhood. It is the catalyst that brings people together through a revitalized sense of connectivity and community. The interior design will explore the balance of dynamic and serene, a messy vitality, as a representation of the flow through the development. Outside, the opportunities are endless with restaurants, cafes, bars and a health club. As one progresses to the units, the design streamlines and the spaces become quieter, open and tranquil – the personalized hearth with an intimate connection to the outside. The materials and palette reflect the open space planning and modern European aesthetic of the fixtures and millwork. Flexibility and personalization play a vital role in the open concept and unique design features. Design details reinforce the indoor/outdoor sightlines and nod to the exterior timeless architecture with elements such as cor-ten signage. The Urban Achievers, Metropolitans and Comfort Creatures each represent a vibrant, energetic spirit at different stages. The design concept of Fuse will transition through varying intensities as it flows from a core Fitness Woven Flooring out to the edges of the community.
