Fall 2011: Sept. 1 - Dec. 31 Building Hours
Dear Friend, We’re so delighted that you are reading our Fall Program Guide! Our theme for this year is “connect.” That’s what the MJCC is all about – providing ways for our members to connect with each other and with our community. We are pleased to announce some of our own connections: collaborations with the Oregon Board of Rabbis, the Jewish Theatre Collaborative, Jewish Community Orchestra, PJ Library, individual congregations, Kollel, Melton, Empowering Ruth, Mothers Circle, the Institute for Judaic Studies, Jewish Family and Child Service and – last but most certainly not least – our generous funder, the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland! We’re also partnering with the Portland Police Bureau, Portland Fire and Rescue Station Number 5, the Red Cross, and Azrael’s Wish, a local nonprofit. And there’s more! Here’s a sampling of our new programs: • Rosh Hashana Stations for families with young children • Beginner Israeli Dance and Nightclub 2-step • A reimagined “Educational Shuk” (with Selihot Service) • Nutrition, Brain Fitness, Organization Workshops and Duplicate Bridge • Wednesday Night Bistro (local artists such as 45th Parallel) • Volleyball! As fall approaches, with it comes the beginning of a new school year as well as the Jewish New Year. This seems a very appropriate time for us to reflect on our own connections and to thank you for connecting with us!
Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 10:00 pm Friday 6:00 am - 9:00 pm Saturday - Sunday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm Cardio Fitness Center and pools close 15 minutes prior to building closure.
