Swimming Every Day! Our swimming program is one of the great benefits of MJCC Day Camp! We have an outstanding aquatic facility that allows kids to enjoy the water safely under the close supervision of Red Cross certified lifeguards.
Classic Camp Instructional Swim for Simcha & Kehila
• Instructional swim will teach basic swimming skills, water safety and life-saving skills. • Progressive curriculum will encourage campers to swim stronger and with more confidence. To encourage participation, we will not offer an alternative activity during instructional swim time, but no child will be forced into the pool.
Extra information for Simcha
Simcha Classic campers swim in our warm water pool Monday through Friday. Twice per week instructional swim will include floating, kicking, body position, water safety and underwater skills. Three days per week, the warm water pool will be available for Simcha Classic Camp open swim. For campers participating in Tu/Th only, instructional swim is not available.
Open Swim!
• 100% camper participation is encouraged but not required. • Alternative activity offered but please pack a swim suit daily. • Pool will be divided by skill level to ensure safety.
Swim Assessments Required for all campers
• The swim assessment consists of swimming the length of the pool with arm strokes, climbing out, jumping back in and swimming backstroke the length of the pool. Please contact our Aquatics Department for any questions regarding swim assessments. • Want to get your child’s swim placement done before camp starts? Come to the MJCC any Monday or Tuesday between 3:30 - 6:00 pm from March to June to get assessed or take the assessment at our registration fair on March 9. • Every Monday of camp we will offer swim assessments for those who haven’t previously received placement in our swim program. • Campers who are able to tread water for 30 seconds and swim at least 40 feet on their own will not be required to wear floatation belts. Lifejackets and floatation belts will be available for all swimmers.
Pool Float!
NEW!
SWIMMING
Kehila, Ruach and Camp Kef will use our pool float every Friday as part of their swimming time. Extra camp staff and lifeguards will be on deck to supervise. Campers who cannot pass the swim assessment will be required to wear a lifejacket.

Registration
Try our new online registration system at www.oregonjcc.org/daycamp or fill out a registration form at the camp office. Payment is due at the time of registration. Enrollment fees totaling $500 or less must be paid in full at the time of registration and may be paid by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard or AMEX. Enrollment fees over $500 may be split into two payments: one at the time of registration and the other on or before May 31, 2014. We offer MJCC member and guest rates. Membership indeed has privileges for camp and throughout the year. Visit www.oregonjcc.org/membership for information. Financial aid is available. For the financial assistance form visit www.oregonjcc.org/daycamp. We are grateful to the Andrea & Herman Marenstein Endowment Fund, funding the Martha Olshen Scholarship for MJCC campers.
Cancellations and Refunds MJCC Day Camp reserves the right to cancel camp programs due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. Should cancellations occur, Day Camp staff will contact the parents/guardians prior to the camp and refunds or transfers will be given. Typically, this will occur seven to ten days before a camp begins. MJCC Day Camp also reserves the right to dismiss a camper whose behavior violates our Behavior Agreement, in which case no refund is given. Any changes or cancellations will be charged $50 per camp. Cancellations made within 14 days of the start of a camp will not be refunded.
