NATIONAL HARBOR, MD. – Frailty increasingly has been seen as a factor in procedural outcomes, including vascular surgery. Nutritional status has also become an issue of concern. Laura Drudi, MD, of McGill University, Montreal, reported on a study that she and her colleagues performed to determine the association between preprocedural nutritional status and all-cause mortality in frail patients being treated for peripheral arterial disease (PAD) at the 2019 Vascular Annual Meeting. Dr. Drudi detailed their post hoc analysis of the FRAILED (Frailty Assessment in Lower Extremity arterial Disease) prospective cohort, which
