t the India Day Parade through Madison Avenue in Manhattan, New York, August 18, Cbazaar, the largest online Indian ethnic wear store, presented a live Fashion Show on their float as it cruised down Madison Avenue in front of thousands of viewers. Models were dressed in a sample collection of the Cbazaar’s 20,000 plus design­ er clothes and accessories for women, men a

hehnaai Couture, New York’s leading fashion house of India’s runway designs, kicked off Fashion Week with its Second Annual Fashion’s Night Out Party at its Fifth Avenue studio on September 6. Actors, artist and celebrities filled the star­ studded soiree including Joya Dass, Purva Bedi, Ami Sheth, Vidur Kapur, Mitu Chilana, Neha Uberoi, Shetal Shah, and the cast of the new movie Pyar Mein Kyun? Also in attendance was celebrity makeup guru Shalini Vadhera Potts and her husband TV host Tony Potts, actor Taimak, and Das Racist rapper Himanshu Suri aka Heems. Straight off the runway from Lakme Fashion Week, India’s hottest couture by designers including Sabyasachi, Saa.n.She, Rohit Bal and Vikram Phandis, were showcased throughout the studio. Bright saris, lehngas and suits, designed with impeccable detail, were on display in an art meets fashion installation by designer Mariusz Podkalicki. The centerpiece was inspired by the bright colors of a late summer garden with pieces from the collection adorned in peacock feathers, flowers, gold accented butterflies and parasols. The display was painted free­ hand by artist Saima Yousef of Studio 2012 during the event. unjabi pop artist Biba Singh and Canadian Rap sensation Mr.Bolly rocked the mainstage at Manhattan’s India Day Parade on August 18 with a per­ formance of their new dance remix, “I Love My India.” Crowds roared as the duo present­ ed this lively song complete with choreo­ graphed dancers.

“We created the song especially for India Day. We wanted something that would make all Indians proud on the occasion of Independence,” says Biba.

Biba Singh is an Indian­American singer and songwriter known for her Hindi and Punjabi pop music. She first started performing at the age of 7 singing shabads at her Gurudwara. Daler Mehndi, the famed bhangra singer, heard young Biba and encouraged her to release her first Punjabi pop album in 2009 called Biba. Produced by well­known Bollywood music director Santokh Singh and launched in India by Mika Singh, Biba the album brought the young singer much critical acclaim in India. Her second album in 2011, Biba For You, was launched by Bappi Lahiri and includes such hits as “Aja Nachle” and “Kaisi Majboori.” Biba has performed with Mika Singh and Bappi Lahiri and has opened for Punjabi pop singer Imran Khan as well as the hit band RDB. Biba is signed with India­ based record labels, Worldwide Records and Hamara Music.

Mr.Bolly (aka Bharat Kapoor) is from Montreal, Canada, and is known for his signa­ ture sound that fuses urban rap with desi beats. June 21st, NYC: The worlds of fashion, music, media and culture collided Thursday night at Bibi Magazine’s Annual Sexy Man Party sponsored by Kingfisher, the ultimate lifestyle brand, and held at the fashionable Club Aer in NYC’s trendy Meatpacking District. With performers such as PNOX, Tina Sugandh, Ameet Chana, Magic Mike and Juggy D headlining, the event was a veritable who’s who of South Asian-American talent. The event celebrated the release of Bibi Magazine’s Sexy Man issue with this year’s Sexy Seven honorees being Juggy D, Jay Dabhi, Ameet Chana, Ashok Rao, Sree Sreenivasan, Jay Goyal and Karsh Kale. The night began with a celebrity-infused fashion show by Khubsoorat Collection by Geetanjali Singh coupled with the custom-designed jewelry of Shalini Pawa for Jewels Galleria. Launching her own Khubsoorat Collection line after a record 20 years in London, Geetanjali chose up and coming South AsianAmerican talent to model her exquisite line of fusion clothing, funky saris and distinctive bridal wear. Along with four of the Sexy Men present that night that walked the ramp—Juggy D, Ameet Chana, Jay Goyal and Jay Dabhi other models included award-winning actors such as Sheetal Shah, Purva Bedi, Ahmad Razvi and musical bigwigs such as Falu, Tina Sugandh, PNOX and Rocky Xavier. After the fashion show, the MTV’s Rasika Mathur emceed the night with her raw comedic talent that had the crowd of 350 selected guests laughing at her jibes. Newcomer RnB singer Rocky Xavier kicked off the performances followed by Tina Sugandh who performed her signature tabla-infused songs. Next came Juggy D’s foot-stomping numbers that had the crowd dancing bhangra in the audience. Q from Josh joined Juggy on stage and the two sang a number that was a surprise to all attending. Following Juggy, the boys of PNOX brought the house
