Ottavio Bottecchia Il primo agosto 1894 nasceva a Borgo San Martino di Colle Umberto, in provincia di Treviso, Ottavio Bottecchia. Fin da ragazzo Ottavio coltivava la sua passione partecipando a gare di ciclismo ed al termine della Grande Guerra iniziò la sua carriera da ciclista. Molte le vittorie ed i piazzamenti che portarono il campione, nel 1923, ad arrivare secondo al Tour de France, ed a vincerlo conquistando la maglia gialla nei due anni successivi. Bottecchia è stato il primo italiano a vincere la prestigiosa competizione francese ed il primo corridore nella storia del Tour ad aver indossato la maglia gialla dalla prima all’ultima tappa.
Ottavio Bottecchia was born on 1st August 1894 in Borgo San Martino di Colle Umberto, near Treviso. Since when he was a young boy, Ottavio cultivated his passion participating in races and at the end of the First World War he began his career as cyclist. A lot of victories and good positioning brought the champion to second place at the Tour de France in 1923, and to the first place at the Tour for the next two years, conquering the yellow jersey. Bottecchia has been the first Italian to win the prestigious french competition and the first cyclist in the history of the Tour who has won the yellow jersey from the first to the last stage.

Since 2010 Bottecchia is the technical sponsor of UCI Professional Continental Team Acqua&Sapone Caffè Mokambo. The professional athletes who compose the team guided by the captain Stefano Garzelli, have achieved excellent positioning with the bikes Bottecchia SP9 and Mille. The successes of Stefano Garzelli during the Tirreno- Adriatica are still memorable, such as the chrono race at Plan de Corones on the 16th stage of the 93rd Giro d’Italia. Bottecchia has decided to continue to support the team Acqua&Sapone for the year 2011 and accompany the athletes with technically innovative and high performance bikes. The team has achieved admirable placements with EMME2 and SP9. The captain Garzelli has done an excellent proof in the 94th Giro d’Italia with his tricolor EMME2, conquering the green jersey as best climber.
Nato a Varese il 16 luglio 1973 Stefano Garzelli ha cominciato a correre all'età di 10 anni per una polisportiva locale. Numerosi successi portarono Stefano al passaggio tra i dilettanti all’età di 19 anni ed a 23 al professionismo. Una serie di ottimi posizionamenti lo portarono nel 2000 a vincere il Giro d’Italia. Nel 2007 il campione scelse di correre per il team Acqua&Sapone e ne diventenne il capitano. Nel 2010 ha avuto inizio la collaborazione tra il team e l’azienda Bottecchia che ne divenne sponsor tecnico. Un’ottima intesa ed un grande scambio di feedback hanno permesso alla Bottecchia di studiare telai in collaborazione con gli atleti per soddisfare le loro esigenze. Ed è così che sono nati i telai SP9 ed Emme2, che hanno condotto il campione Stefano Garzelli verso prestigiosi traguardi. Memorabili la vittoria a Plan De Corones della 16° tappa del 93° Giro d’Italia, e la vittoria della Tirreno-Adriatico 2010. Nella stagione 2011 lo straordinario capitano del team Acqua&Sapone Caffè Mokambo è riuscito a conquistare la prestigiosa maglia verde come miglior scalatore del 94° Giro d’Italia regalandoci moltissime emozioni sulle vette e sui passi più duri del mondo. Stefano Garzelli was born in Varese on 16th July 1973 and he has begun to race at the age of 10 years old in a local sport society. A lot of successes brought Stefano to the amateurs category when he was 19 years old and to the professionalism at 23. A set of very good placements permitted him to win in 2000 the Giro d’Italia. In 2007 the champion choose to race with the team Acqua&Sapone, becoming the captain. In 2010 started the collaboration between the team and Bottecchia, that became the technical sponsor. Bottecchia could study and design frames in order to satisfy the athletes’ needs thanks to the excellent agreement and feedback with the team. The frame SP9 and EMME2 were born in this way, allowing to Stefano Garzelli to reach his prestigious goals. The successes of the captain during the Tirreno- Adriatica are still memorable, such as the chrono race at Plan de Corones on the 16th stage of the 93rd Giro d’Italia. In 2011 season Stefano Garzelli has achieved the green jersey as best climber on the 94th Giro d’Italia, giving to his fans great emotions on the hardest peaks of the world.

STIFFNESS TO WEIGHT TORSION TESTING This is an overall torsional measurement from head tube to rear dropouts, it indicate show well a frame will handle in turns, how stable it will be at high speed and the reactivity to the sprint. The result shows the ratio between the applied power (N) and the frame distortion (mm). Much more high is this result, much more stiff will be the frame. As we can see from the test results, EMME2 confirmed some record data as our designers estimated. A RESulT OF 125 N/mm STAyS ON THE WORld TOp ScAlE OF STIFFNESS.

Un nuovo progetto completamente MADE IN ITALY, progettazione, prototipazione e produzione tutto in Italia, verniciatura compresa. Il nuovo telaio EMME2 è stato studiato in collaborazione con il Team Professinistico Acqua&Sapone Caffè Mokambo per soddisfare le esigenze degli atleti nelle competizioni più dure e impegnative del mondo. La linea essenziale di questo telaio deriva dai test e dall’esperienza di atleti come Garzelli, Napolitano, Codol ecc, unita a nuove incredibili tecnologie sia nella realizzazione dei tubi, di derivazione aereonautica, che nel loro assemblaggio, effettuato tutto a mano. Le fibre M46J unidirezionali hanno un alto modulo elastico, pari a 450 Giga Pascal, mentre la resistenza alla rottura è di 4200 Mega Pascal. Questa tecnica di lavorazione permette di ottenere il massimo dai materiali usati raggiungendo pesi molto bassi e con livelli di resistenza massimi. Il desing del carro posteriore e' stato concepito per dare una elevata rigidità alla struttura del telaio, permettendo di evitare dispersioni di potenza in fase di spinta. La sezione sottile dei verticali posteriori garantisce un elevato comfort. Nuovo ed innovativo il forcellino posteriore in carbonio è integrato ai foderi bassi, costituendo un monolite più leggero e resistente. La EMME2 ha accompagnato gli atleti del team Acqua&Sapone Caffè Mokambo durante le loro competizioni, ed ha tagliato il traguardo insieme a Stefano Garzelli conquistando la maglia verde come miglior scalatore del 94° Giro d’Italia.
A new project, totally MADE IN ITALY, designed, prototyped, producted and painted in Italy. The new EMME2 frame has been studied in collaboration with Acqua&Sapone Caffè Mokambo Professional Team, in order to satisfy the needs of the athletes during the hardest competitions in the world. The essential design of this frame comes from the tests and the experiences of athletes such as Garzelli, Napolitano, Codol and so on. New incredible technologies, both on the tubes production, from aeronautical derivation, and their assembling, which is all handmade. The M46J one way fibres, have an high flexible module, equal to 450 Giga Pascal. Whereas the break resistance is of 4200 Mega Pascal. This technique permits to obtain the maximum from the materials, in order to reach very low weights and maximum levels of resistance. The rear stay design has been thought to give a big stiffness to the frames structure, so to avoid power dispersions when pushing. The thin section of the rear seat stays assures a high comfort. New and innovative the rear carbon dropout that is integrated with the chain stays, so to create a unique part lighter and more resistant. EMME2 has followed the athletes of the team Acqua&Sapone Caffè Mokambo during the competitions, and it has crossed the finishing line with Stefano Garzelli conquering the green jersey as best climber at 94th Giro d’Italia.

La ricerca e lo studio del design ha portato Bottecchia a sviluppare SID, Sistema Integrato Dinamico, uno speciale reggisella in grado di offrire 70 mm di regolazione mantenendo la sua perfetta integrazione con la struttura del telaio. Con il sistema SID scompaiono i limiti di un telaio a reggisella integrato e ne vengono esaltati i pregi. The research and the design’s study, bring Bottecchia to develop the Integrated Dynamic System (SID), planning a special integrated seatpost which can be settled for 70 mm. With SID system, we eliminate the limits of integrated seatpost, and proclaim its values.

Una struttura monoscocca realizzata con doppio stampo TCC, Tecnologia Carbonio Calibrato, in grado di predefinire spessori e depositi di materiale all’interno del telaio permettendo così di gestire la rigidità nei punti di maggiore stress eliminando le imperfezioni in fase di stampaggio. Il risultato è un monoscocca con le pareti interne lisce simili a quelle esterne, prive di imperfezioni e con spessori calibrati. Realizzato con fibre ad alta resistenza come la Toray 40 e 60T in multilaminazione differenziata l’SP9 è finito con carbonio 1K che ne conferisce un aspetto di altissimo pregio. La struttura così realizzata conferisce uno standard di rigidità e sicurezza eccezionali mantenendo il controllo dei pesi raggiungendo i 1200 grammi completo di reggisella. A completare il progetto non poteva mancare lo sterzo differenziato da 1”1/8 sopra e 1”1/2 sotto, i forcellini integrati in carbonio, il passaggio dei cavi interni con l’assoluta assenza di boccole e fermacavi. Il risultato finale è un perfetto bilanciamento, grande stabilità e precisione di guida, retrotreno più leggero e stabile, massima resistenza agli sforzi alle torsioni e alle sollecitazioni in corsa, profilo particolarmente aerodinamico.
A double mould TCC monocoque structure (Technology Calibrated Carbon) can define internal frame thickness and material dregs, so to control the stiffness where there is more stress, eliminating the failings during the moulding. The result is a monocoque with smooth internal faces like the external ones, without failings and with calibrated thickness. Created with strong differentiated multilayer fibre as Toray 40 and 60 T, SP9 is refined with 1K carbon, which gives to the bike a very high value. This structure assure high stiffness and security standards, and have a hold on weight. It reaches 1200 g including seatpost. To complete this project, we can not omit the differentiated headset - 1”1/8 over, 1”1/2 below – the carbon integrated dropouts, the internal cables without using bushings and cable fix. The final result is a perfect balance, big stability and thoroughness guide, lighter and steady rearstay, maximum resistance to efforts, to twistings and to stress when riding, aerodynamic feature.

Lieve restyling tecnico per il telaio che ha vinto con il campione Stefano Garzelli la Tirreno Adriatico 2010. Lo sterzo da 1” e ½ con la relativa forcella, insieme ai ritocchi al carro posteriore ed al down tube passano davvero inosservati sotto il profilo estetico, ma apportano al telaio una maggiore rigidità globale pari a 108 N/mm, mantenendo le riconosciute doti di comfort. Fornito anche per il 2011 al Team Acqua&Sapone Caffè Mokambo nella versione in carbonio opaco, insieme al modello Emme2 rappresenta il top racing della gamma Bottecchia. Tecnica e design, questi in sintesi i concetti che Bottecchia ha voluto esprimere con SP9 utilizzando la più innovativa tecnologia. Sterzo differenziato, forcellini integrati in carbonio, struttura TCC (Tecnologia Carbonio Calibrato) con doppio stampo, ma soprattutto l’innovativo Sistema Integrato Dinamico del reggisella con possibilità di regolazione fino a 70 mm sono alcune delle caratteristiche dell’SP9 creato per rispondere alle esigenze dei pro.
A little technical restyle for this frame, that won the 2010 Tirreno – Adriatico with the captain Stefano Garzelli. The 1’’ and 1/2 headset and fork, together with the touching up of the rear stay and the down tube go really unobserved, but they give to the frame more global stiffness equal to 108 N/mm, keeping the same comfort. The Team Acqua&Sapone Caffè Mokambo has been supplied for 2011 with SP9 matt carbon version, that together with EMME2 represent the top of Bottecchia racing range. Technique and design, the concepts which Bottecchia wanted to express with SP9, using the most progressive technology. Differentiated headset, integrated carbon dropouts, TCC (Technology Calibrated Carbon) structure with double mould and, above all, the new seatpost Dynamic Integrated System, with the possibility to regulate it up to 70 mm. These are some of SP9 features, created to respond to pro needs.

HIGH SPEED TECHNOLOGY Disegnata dal vento per regalare emozioni mai provate. La Super 8Avio è un mix tra leggerezza ed aerodinamicità, rigidità e stabilità. La perfetta unione tra i concetti di aerodinamica delle bici da crono nella parte anteriore, e gli studi biomeccanici sul posteriore per assicurare grandi performance ed il massimo comfort. Con questo nuovo progetto Bottecchia ha voluto realizzare un telaio in grado di soddisfare le esigenze dell’agonista dedito ad intensa attività di medio/lungo fondo unendo esperienza, caratteristiche e tecnologia di ultima generazione. Abbiamo dunque ripreso sul posteriore i concetti dell’EMME2, rielaborati per offrire maggiore elasticità verticale, quindi comfort. Il tubo sella è completamente nuovo e progettato per dare comfort nella parte alta verso la sella e massima rigidità nella zona del movimento centrale. L’anteriore, parte molto caratterizzante del modello SUPER 8AVIO, riprende dei concetti di aerodinamica delle bici da crono, integrando in parte la forcella nel telaio conferendone caratteristiche di penetrazione in grado di migliorare le performance nei tratti rettilinei. Il grande lavoro di sviluppo tecnico è stato completato dal design pulito, integrando i passaggi dei cavi internamente e evidenziando le forme sullo sterzo e sul down tube. Le fibre di carbonio utilizzate per questo frame sono un mix di Toray sapientemente lavorate su stampo double mould monoscocca di ultima generazione. Il SUPER 8AVIO è disponibile in 5 misure e 2 colorazioni.
Designed by the wind to give emotions never felt before. Super 8Avio is a mix between lightness and aerodynamics, stiffness and stability. This bike represents the perfect union of the aerodynamics concepts of chrono bikes in the front, and the biomechanical studies in the back to ensure the best performances and comfort. With this new project Bottecchia has realized a frame able to satisfy the needs of the athlete dedicated to marathon, combining experience and latest characteristics and technology. We resumed in the back the concepts of EMME2, revised in order to ensure more vertical elasticity and comfort. The seat tube is completely new and it is projected to be more comfortable on the top, near the seat and to give extreme rigidity in the bbset zone. The front, a characterizing part of Super8Avio, refers to the aerodynamics concepts of chrono bikes, with the partly integrated fork in the frame that gives more penetration characteristics, improving the performances in the straight sections. The great job of technical development has been completed with a clean design, with an integrated system of cables, pointing out the shapes on the headset and down tube. The carbon fiber used for this frame are a mix of Toray, wisely wrought with latest double mould monocoque. SUPER 8AVIO is available in 5 sizes and 2 colors.

The appreciation continues for this great frame that continues to offer a lot of satisfactions and excellent performances. Also this year the semi professional team A.C. Monsummanese conquered a lot of podiums and victories with its 8AVIO. Materials have been renewed with Nanocarbon technology and weight has been reduced to 1040g (size 48, rough) with an increase of torsional and structural stiffness, increasing further the stability and resistance that characterized this frame. Completamente nuovo, il frame DUELLO della serie 200 rappresenta il telaio perfetto per quella fascia di mercato che continua ad espandersi grazie all’aumento continuo di appassionati che iniziano ad intraprendere questo entusiasmante sport. Grande attenzione è stata posta sul restyling curando la tecnica con importanti innovazioni, come lo sterzo differenziato da 1”1/8 sopra e 1”1/2 sotto, e la relativa forcella in carbonio con canotto in alluminio. Le saldature delle aree sterzo e sella sono di tipo “smooth welding”, praticamente quasi invisibili da sembrare carbonio. Nuovi i forcellini in 3D e lega di alluminio super light X6 per un peso contenuto di circa 1400 g Molto curato anche il design, pulito ed accattivante grazie alla grafica moderna. Dedicato a chi incomincia a pedalare con caratteristiche già da agonista. È disponibile in 6 taglie con geometrie sloping, ed in due varianti grafiche. Grande novità che Bottecchia sta preparando da molto tempo e che oggi è finalmente pronta per affrontare ogni sfida; Bottecchia è orgogliosa di offrirvi il nuovissimo telaio da cronometro e triathlon, che abbiamo chiamato CRONOTHLON. Gli studi aerodinamici e biomeccanici ci hanno indotti a soluzioni di integrazione del manubrio, dei freni e dei cavi, tali da far sembrare il tutto un'unica struttura. CRONOTHLON è la prima bici con freni veramente integrati nel telaio. Questa configurazione innovativa è stata realizzata con una precisa formula fluidomeccanica che ha come risultato una minore resistenza allo spostamento dell'aria e quindi una maggiore velocità, oltre ad un design pulito ed essenziale. Disporre di un mezzo con una minore superficie frontale determinata delle sezioni dei tubi, diventa fondamentale per raggiungere alte velocità. Una nuova importante soluzione è stata adottata per la regolazione del reggisella, essenziale per le sempre più rigide misure imposte dall'UCI, sia per le gare a cronometro che per il triathlon. Un ultimo cenno va alla grafica particolarmente aggressiva e moderna, disegnata dal nostro Centro Stile Italiano Bottecchia. A big news that Bottecchia is preparing since a long time and today is finally ready to face every challenge. Bottecchia is proud to offer you the new time trial and triathlon frame, that we called CRONOTHLON. The aero dynamical and bio mechanical studies kept us to some solutions such us the integrated handlebar, cables and brakes, so to make it similar to a unique structure. CRONOTHLON is the first bike with the brakes really integrated in the frame. This innovative configuration has been realized with a specific mechanical fluid formula, which bring to a lower resistance to the blast and for this reason a higher speed, behind a clean and essential design. To have a bike with a smaller front surface, due to the tubes sections, is essential to reach high speeds. A new important solution has been taken to the seatpost regulation, essential for the even most strict rules dictated from the UCI, both for the time trial and the triathlon. A last mention goes to the graphic, aggressive and up to date, designed from our Bottecchia Italian Centre Style.

THE HARDEST MOUNTAIN IN EUROPE La nuova creazione per il mountain hard tail in carbonio l’abbiamo chiamata col nome della montagna più dura d’Europa: lo Zoncolan. Utilizzando la stessa tecnologia usata per l’SP9, quindi monoscocca con doppio stampo e carbonio UD ad alto modulo, abbiamo ottenuto massima leggerezza ed estrema rigidità. The new creation for the carbon hard tail mountain has the name of the hardest mountain in Europe: Zoncolan. By using the same technology used for the SP9, carbon monococque with double mould and UD high module carbon, we obtained the maximum lightness and stiffness. Grande restyling per questo frame con nuove aspirazioni da top di gamma. Importanti aggiornamenti tecnici sono stati apportati sul nuovo telaio della PORDOI, a partire dal materiale carbon TR50. Il tubo sterzo è stato modificato rendendolo conico differenziato con base da 1’’1/2 per migliorare robustezza e precisione di guida. I passaggi dei cavi freno e cambio sono stati integrati all'interno del telaio garantendo un sistema più pulito e silenzioso. Il design e le forme dei tubi di ultima generazione conferiscono alla bici un look altamente professionale esaltato anche dalla colorazione. Altra nota di rilievo è il posteriore molto rigido con l'alloggiamento per la pinza del freno di tipo post mount all’interno del triangolo. La scatola movimento è una BSA. Questo telaio della linea MTB Bottecchia Reparto Corse, con un peso di circa 1380 grammi, viene proposto come modello di entrata della gamma in carbonio.
An important restyling for this new frame with top range aspirations. Important technical updating for the new PORDOI frame, starting from the material: Carbon TR50. The head tube has been modified by becoming conical differentiated, with a base of 1” 1/2 to improve toughness and precision when riding. The brake and gear cables’ passages have been integrated within the frame, so to guarantee a cleaner and more silent system. The design and the shape of the tubes give to the bike a very professional look, also enhanced from the colour. Another important note is the rear stay which is very stiff thanks to the post mount calliper housing, inside the triangle. The BB is BSA. This MTB Bottecchia Reparto Corse frame, has a weight of around 1380 g, and it is the entry level carbon model.

La STELVIO è il modello Bottecchia più venduto del settore MTB del Reparto Corse e quindi, dopo 3 anni in gamma, subisce un dovuto restyling. Come per il modello Pordoi, anche lo STELVIO acquisisce il nuovo tubo sterzo differenziato con base da 1"1/2. La lega d'alluminio usata è la X6 della serie Scandio, in triplo spessore, con profili dei tubi ridisegnati secondo nuove specifiche tecniche e dal design idroformato. Nuovo anche il profilo dei forcellini più leggeri in 3D. Il peso del telaio grezzo si aggira attorno ai 1400 grammi, che rappresenta un valore di assoluto rilievo in considerazione delle forme dei tubi. Nuova la grafica, disponibile in un’unica variante colore bianco, nero e rosso. Lo stesso modello viene proposto nella versione da 29", sia con forcella rigida in carbonio che front suspended. STELVIO is the best-selling Bottecchia MTB Reparto Corse model. For this reason, after three years, we bring it a new restyling. As for Pordoi, even STELVIO gains the new differentiated head tube with 1” 1/2 on the base. The aluminium alloy is X6 Scandio series, triple thickness, with the tubes’ profiles designed following the new technical specifications and the hydroform design. A new profile also for the dropouts, lighter and 3D. The weight of the rough frame is around 1400 g, which represents an important value taking into consideration the shape of the tubes. GARDENA è il nuovo il telaio full suspended in carbonio Bottecchia Reparto Corse. Tecnologia TCC a doppio stampo per il telaio monoscocca GARDENA e carbonio UD ad alto modulo; queste le caratteristiche costruttive di questo telaio dallo spirito competitivo. La strada percorsa dai nostri progettisti è stata quella di realizzare un telaio dal peso contenuto (Kg 1.680 size 44) e dall’elevata reattività, destinato ad un’utenza esigente per un utilizzo sia agonistico che sportivo. Da qui la scelta di una geometria con un classico quadrilatero posteriore che attua l’ammortizzatore con uno swing-arm in carbonio ed una quota di standover bassa per migliorare la stabilità e la guidabilità sui percorsi tecnici. Dimensioni importanti per tubo obliquo e sterzo da 1’’ 1/2 rendono molto rigido l’avantreno con ottimi vantaggi in termini di agilità. Asimmetrici gli orizzontali del carro con il lato catena più basso ed attacco pinza post-mount. Pulizia e attenzione sul design e sulla soluzione dei passacavi rendono molto piacevole il look di questo frame. GARDENA is the new full suspended carbon frame from Bottecchia Reparto Corse. TCC double mould technology for GARDENA monocoque frame and UD high module carbon: these are the building characteristics of this frame with a competitive spirit. The way that our technicians followed, was to realize a frame with a low weight (1.680 kg, size 44) and a high reactivity, addressed to demanding users for a use both competitive and sporting. From here the choose of a geometry with a classic rear quadrilateral which carries out a shock absorber with a carbon swing-arm and a low standover quote to improve the stability and the riding on the technical tracks. Important dimensions for the down tube and 1” 1/2 headtube give a lot of stiffness to the front triangle with good advantages in terms of agility. The chain stay is asymmetrical with the chain side lower than the other side and post mount caliper. Cleanup and attention to design and to the cables give a pleasant look to this frame.

Con 150 mm di corsa, questo telaio è la proposta Bottecchia per l’all mountain. Con questo sistema di sospensione attiva, la ruota non compie una traiettoria ad arco con vantaggi sensibili avvertibili anche da bikers poco esperti. Nonostante l’ampia corsa il sistema offre una ottima versatilità e un’ottima qualità nella pedalata esaltando la funzionalità della sospensione che risulta sempre efficiente sia in frenata che in pedalata. Studiata per mantenere invariata la lunghezza della catena in fase ammortizzante risulta esente da problemi di “pedal kick back” (rotazione all’indietro della ruota) o blocco della sospensione in discesa, rendendo questo modello una bici versatile e completa. With 150 mm of stroke, this frame is Bottecchia proposal for the all mountain. With this system of active suspension, the wheel doesn’t make an arch path, so to give good benefits also to the not very experienced riders. Despite the wide travel, the system offers a very good versatility and quality when push on the pedals, by enhancing the suspension functionality which results always efficient, both when braking down and pushing on the pedals. Studied to maintain unchanged the length of the chain, it results exempt from pedal kick back problems (backwards rotation of the wheel) and the suspension block when going downhill, by making this model a complete and versatile bike.
