BIDV continues to support Covid-19 response in HCM City At the reception ceremony, a representative of the City’s Fatherland Front Committee recognized and spoke highly of BIDV's efforts to the City’s implementation of pandemic prevention measures, contributing to protecting people's health and soon turning the city's life back to normal.

n 15 August 2021, at the ceremony of promoting the entire nation's strength in the prevention and fighting against Covid-19 and launching of Ho Chi Minh City's Social Security Center, BIDV continued to donate VND25 billion (USD1.1 million) to the city’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic. This donation follows the banking sector’s program. BIDV will coordinate with relevant agencies of the city to send donations to hospitals and medical facilities for the purchase of medical equipment and protective clothing as well as vaccination and other activities to serve the prevention and fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the end of July 2021, BIDV donated VND10 billion (USD435,000) to Ho Chi Minh city to serve the city’s pandemic response activities. In addition, BIDV' branches in the area also actively joined the pandemic response activities in different forms. To date, the total donations BIDV has made to the authority, hospitals and other medical facilities in Ho Chi Minh City reached nearly VND40 billion (USD1.7 million). Earlier on 5 June 2021, at the launching ceremony of the Fund for vaccination prevention of coronavirus disease 2019, BIDV donated an amount of VND60 billion (USD2.6 million) to the Fund. This year, BIDV and its Trade Union also have sent support to the frontline health workers in pandemic-hit areas such as Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Vinh Phuc, Ha Tinh, K Hospital, Quang Binh, Lang Son... totaling over VND15 billion (USD652,000). Actively accompanying the government on the prevention and fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, in May 2021, BIDV also presented VND25 billion (USD1.1 million) to the Ministry of Health for vaccine purchase.
